Please.... Need help for Visonic MCT-370 SMA contact sensor and MP-841 motion sensor

Hi, after update, I don’t know how to setup things now, used to have handlers.
I have some Visonic MCT-370 SMA contact sensors, they work perfectly, now I need more to add but the new ones only show as a zigbee thing, I can’t change the driver to zigbee contact, getting error “Error changing device driver to “Zigbee Contact”. Ensure that the driver you are trying to change to has a valid fingerprint match with this device.”. When I go to see old sensors detail, they ARE ussing “Zigbee contact”. I don’t understand why the new ones are not working, they are same sensors…
As for MP-841 motion sensors, they are added as zigbee things too and can’t not change the driver either.
Anyone can help me with this, I really appreciate it, thanks in advance!

I have installed the Edge driver but I can’t change the driver to this, getting the same error

I’m sure that’s very frustrating. :disappointed_relieved:

The most likely issue is that even though they are the same model, they have a different “fingerprint.“ That can happen.“ And the new architecture is much more sensitive to fingerprints than the old one was.

The first thing to do is to go to the advanced page in the new web interface and check the fingerprints for the ones that work versus the ones that don’t work to see if they are in fact different

my.SmartThings.com/advanced

Here’s an example of what you’re looking for. The two fields together, “Manufacturer Code” and “Model” = the fingerprint.

Thanks for reply, I just checked the new one and the old ones are exactly same, Manufacturer Code is Visonic and the Model is MCT-370 SMA, that’s why I’m so confused… :joy:

Hmmmm….

Looks like some people have that working with one of Mariano’s custom edge drivers. (he is a community member who has contributed a lot of free edge Drivers.)

You will need to follow the link to his channel, subscribe to it, select the edge driver you want added to your hub, and then, after it’s been downloaded, you should be able to select it through the SmartThings app.

Just be aware that changing to a custom edge driver sometimes pauses or even deletes existing routines that use that device, so that’s just something to be aware of. You might have to rebuild the routines after switching.

You can ask further questions about the driver in the author thread:

(EDGE Driver-Mc): Zigbee Drivers for Motion, Open/Close, Moisture, Smoke-Co Sensors and others Devices

And if you want more information about edge drivers in general, there’s a community FAQ, but it doesn’t sound like you need that right now. So I’m really just including this link in case someone finds your thread because of the model number, but doesn’t know anything about edge yet.

FAQ: I have no idea what Edge is. Is that a new developer tool? (2022)

Thanks a lot, the EDGE Driver-Mc makes this contact sensor working prefectly, but the motion sensor is not, I’ll seek more info from there, have a nice day!

I have 5 Open/Close Sensors Manufacture Code:Visonic Model:MCT-350 SMA that currently use
Zigbee Thing Driver. The forums say to use the Zigbee Contact Mc driver which are loaded on my Aeotec Smart Hub. But I am unable to change to that driver. Any help would be appreciated.

Ask @Mariano_Colmenarejo to add the fingerprints if they are missing from the driver.

if you added the Edge driver after you added the device… you can try removing the device and adding it back if you haven’t already tried that.

Thanks but the driver was already there, when I go to change to it, STs says there are no other drivers available.

Have you tried removing the device add it again

Could be a failed pairing. See the community FAQ for how to find out. Take a screenshot of that info for the device so in case it’s not a failed pairing, you will know what your exact fingerprint is for that device.

FAQ: Manufacturer/Model Shows All Zeroes

If the pairing was good and you do see a valid fingerprint, then you will need to post that fingerprint in any of the other threads where you are asking about drivers, including Mariano’s. The developers will need the fingerprint in order to know whether their driver can help you or not.

Yes, with the same result, says “Connected” but doesn’t function as a contact sensor.

This is the driver it has:

That’s good information about the driver, but the most important information is the “fingerprint” for the device itself. The fingerprint is always the same no matter which driver you are using.

See the link in my previous post for how to determine what fingerprint your device is showing in your SmartThings account.
