Pairing Aeotec Home Energy Meter Gen5?

Anyone have any suggestions on how to pair my Aeotec HEM Gen 5? It used to be paired with my Smartthings setup, but apparently it disconnected from the HUB. I am trying to re-pair with no success. If my memory serves me correctly, when I first originally tried pairing to the system I had a hard time. For the life of me, I cant remember. I tried following the instructions in the manual, but no luck so far.

Yes! Same issue – have loaded the handlers but the device has not yet been recognized by the hub. Can you pair the unit without it being clamped? Then, move it to the location of the electric box, or does this need to be fully configured to be recognized? Wonder why no one is able to provide suggestions to the previous question, yet there is a lot of discussion on this device.

Im not sure neither. Ive been meaning to call from where I purchased it, but Ive been a little too busy.

Hey! Did you remember how to pair HEM Gen5 with Smartthings Hub? Please any idea will be great! Is taking me too much time!

Put the Hub in pairing mode,
press the Action Button on your HEM.
My HEM is another floor than my hub but I have alot of zwave devices so my mesh is good.
I had to try multiple times before pairing was successful, also make sure that the HEM is paired as a secure device, otherwise nothing will work as expected.
You can verify that the connection is secure by opening up the SmartThings IDE web, and selected the HEM from the device list, the Raw Description should start with zw: Ls

Mine looks like this: zw:Ls type:3101 mfr:0086 prod:0002 model:005F ver:1.04 zw

If it never shows up, make sure that there is no HEM ghost entry in the IDE and you might also want to factory reset the HEM.

Resetting your Home Energy Meter.
Your Home Energy Meter can be reset to default factory settings with ease.

  1. Press and hold the Action Button for 10 seconds.
  2. If successful, the LED on the HEM should begin to blink slowly
