Osram lightify smart plug issue

I have an osram lightify plug that was working fine for year and a half. Now all of a sudden, it is not responding to on off commands from the app (classic). I can physically turn it on/off at the button on the switch, and the app will recognize it changing, I just can’t change it’s on/off status from the app. Anybody have any suggestions? Or has anybody experienced this? This is the switch:

I’m quite surprised by this problem because the switches are usually maintenance free for me; at least in the last two years I owned them. I have five of them.

I’ve tried unplugging it and plugging it back in and that did not help. I haven’t moved it from its location so I know it’s not a zigbee mesh issue. Nothing that would disturb its signal has been moved as far as repeaters and such.
