My biggest one is the new app does not have a detailed device history.
The classic app would tell you what command, routine, ect. triggered a device at whatever time.
The new app just tells you: on or off, motion or no motion, and what time it was.
Yep! It’s been wonderful, really. I’ve got an arrival (anyone arrives) and a leaving (everyone is gone) automation. It turns on a light indoors, unlocks the door after 30 seconds (re-locks after 2 minutes), and sends me a text message either welcoming me home or telling me to be safe. (I think the texts are hilarious, my house having a personality is just so lovely haha)
Oh man, took me forever to find life360; it’s under linked services.
So, it all shows good there, all my users. I checked and all my users appear as devices and they seem to be working. But still, I do not see any of them when I edit an automation to add them.
I figured I would remove the linked service and try again, but it keeps giving me an error (something about a network error try again). I persisted and was able to remove it.
But… How does one add support for life360 again? There is no “+” in linked services…
I migrated. A little sorry I did. The new interface is better, but Automations are killing me. A lot of them just don’t work. And I can’t edit them. There’s no “Edit” button, sometimes, maybe if I hit it at the correct 10 minutes of the week, I can press and hold to get into edit mode, but usually it just selects.
Presence sensing is near useless. We use phones for presence sense, and I’m not going to force all household members to run Life360 24/7, it’s a battery hog. There’s no way to see who is home, no messages about arriving and leaving, automations don’t trigger on arriving or leaving.
It looks like the only way to make this work at all now is to delete ALL of my old automations, rebuild what I can, and write a lot of WebCore code to do what the classic app used to do.
I also lost control of some devices with 3rd party drivers.
