[OBSOLETE] Fibaro Single Switch 2 FGS-213 & Double Switch 2 FGS-223

For the 222 I am using cjcharles0 DTH. I also have a 212, but I am using the generic Z-wave switch for that as I want it to run locally.

Many Thanks Simon. Super helpful.
Followed your steps, excluded and then re included it with the hub very close. It added as secure and then I used Eric’s DTH and it configured correctly.

Best,
Fab

Good to hear. These things are super reliable, there are just a few gotchas here and there to get them setup right.

BTW, Another tip for you. If you set the hub in learning mode while you power up a fresh Fibaro module it will include automatically and you don’t have to go through the 3 clicks thing, which can be tricky.

That’s a nice one. Thx for noting . The tripple click process is very unpredictable

An interesting new issue cropped up today. I installed 2 x FGS-223 to control my Koi pond. Switching all works fine, but the energy reporting does not. My pond pump consumes 46W constantly, but sometimes the FGS-223 only reports 6W. At first I thought maybe the 6W was at startup, then power increases to 46W. and the change is not being reported. The config is for a new report at 10% change and periodic reports every 10 seconds. The change form 6W to 46W is well over 10% and form the logs I cannot see any further reports generated unless I hit the refresh on the device.

I am using the last DTH form the GitHub prior to the addition of the non-secure inclusion update.

Ideas?

The Google Home app detects “Luz Da Sala” as a switch, how can i change on smartthings to detects as light?

Hi i have a question, i have installed the 223 device and it works, my question is this:
I now see 3 device on ST app, one is the fibaro and other 2 are the channels.
How can i hide the Fibaro one? Is actually lookik like a scene.

Also google home whene i ask o switch on a channel he says that is turning on 3 device.

Ho can i handle this?

There currently is no way to hide the main device in SmartThings.

You can go into the Google Home SmartApp configuration and hide the main device from Google Home.

It is a nice suggestion

Thanks a lot

Hi,
I was using Eric’s DH for Fibaro Double Switch 223 and it was working great. For some reason (it might be when I was trying to clean my ghost zwave switches) , my fibaro double switch and a fibaro dimmer disappeared completely from the app and from IDE.

I was able to exclude and reinclude the Fibaro double switch 223. ST identified it as a zwave dual switch and it works dor one of the switches only. I tried using Eric’s DH again but it’s now working. It is not being able to configure the device. I can see the main device and 2 child devices but none works

  • can you please point me to the step by step of how I configure with Eric’s DH
  • Alao any pointer to how can include the Dinmee device back again. 3 clicks on the switch and the button B not working…

Thanks!
Fab

Can you make sure you have the latest handler installed?

It is possible that it was included non-secure this time. The handler was modified a few months ago to handle both secure and non-secure inclusion.

Thx for your quick reply Eric
I figured out it was included non secure.
i included again and it worked
it seems I’m using an older version of the DH that just works on secure mode

Thx!
Fab

Hi Eric,

on a separate note, will you be able to help me on the Fibaro Dimmer ? I used the fibaro dimmer 2 US device handler. it works fine except that the dimming functionality does not respond to the slider. it only dims if I change the device config to a new max

Happy new year to everyone.
Recently I have been getting internet outages and the consequences of STT being closely coupled with Cloud were made more evident.
Having spoken with STT support I have changed the drivers on the Fibaro Single Switches I have back to the stock Z-Wave Switch Generic so that these devices are now seen and treated as local. Using Smart Lighting Apps now means I have some very useful local processing now.
However I have 12 Fibaro Double Switch 2 FGS-223 all using Eric’s excellent DTH. This means STT sees them as cloud devices as it is a custom handler.

Does anyone know of a way to get these devices Local? A stock handler? Or is it that there are 2 endpoints on the single switch that is the issue here.
I would really appreciate some advice & help with this challenge

And finally…
Can someone explain the difference between secure and non-secure inclusion please?
Are there any functional benefits of one against another?

i tryed these stock ones for a double swithc, but they dont local process anyway

Thanks Mark
Does anyone know why even the stock dual switch device handlers run in the cloud and not Local?

ST havent got a stable one they wish to deploy onto your box? i dont know, they dont seam to bothered about developing/expanding the system. i havent seen a new local device added sice ive been using it, i check this often

Could any one quickly tell me how to include the FGS-223 in secure mode (it’s better right?). I had 3 modules and none were in secure mode now despite removing, resetting, readding.

Best way is to include close to the hub so they include directly as opposed to routing through another module.

I’m using FGS-223 with this DH everything works great untill last update of STSC now I’m getting “checking status” using the new app, on the classic everything works fine.
Anyone find a solution for this?
