You beat me to it by seconds!
UPDATE: @NYCE_Support responded that they fixed a bug on the driver posted on their website that was causing the motion sensor not to work. I have the new handler and also they said they updated their website. Iâll report back if I can make all sensors to work.
Perhaps Iâm being too sensitive. And I wonât claim to have put more thought into this than Tyler has. But I didnât find NYCEâs naming convention to be that complicated, at least on Amazon. The ceiling sensor is listed as NCZ-3043-HA, and the product page pretty clearly states it works with ST but itâs not compatible with control4. Another 10 seconds on the NYCE website reveals that the control4 version doesnât have the âHAâ at the end (and can only be purchased through control4 sales channels anyway).
I like this as a motion sensor, itâs unobtrusive and it works. If the temp/humidity can report correctly, thatâd be a nice bonus. I hope NYCE and ST can work it out.
Iâve had fun with this handler today, but Iâve got all sensors working. I posted the handler here:
Awesome, thanks! Will check it out tonight.
Iâm not 100% sure, but I think the new Lowes IRIS NYCE tilt sensor will work with smartThings. Iâm going to order one from EBAY as my local LOWES does not have the new model. New model info. What to look for is three slots in the front of the sensor and a UPC of: 8 41722 00015 8. Unfortunately Lowes kept the same item # (505329) online so you canât easily see if your store has the new model. The packaging still says âNCZ-3014â (sans HA) though the sensor has NCZ-3014-HA on it. One easily identifiable trait is the packaging is now a box rather than a blister pack. Iâll report back after I receive and test it.
I am still not able to get NCZ-3014 from Lowes Iris to work even with new handler.
Is there anything that needs to be changed to get it to work other than changing TYPE to the one on this thread.
Or am I confused and the non-HA version still will not work.
Non-HA is a no go (messed with mine for hours). Hopefully you still have the box. Unless you want to invest in IRIS and pay a crazy monthly fee
Just picked up a pair of the NCZ-3014 sensors from Lowes for $3.50 each (Figured what could it hurt) Theyâre 2nd Gen, in the box instead of blister pack, and with the slits on the front of the sensor.
Box says NCZ-3014, but sensor says NCZ-3014-HA (And thatâs how Lowes says to idenfity that itâs a second gen).
First one paired up, and works fine using the built-in device handler. Just tilt status, and battery (No temperature), but I donât think youâre supposed to get temperature from these little things.
I can confirm that the new IRIS one works. Using it for my dog food container so I can tell if the dogâs been fed and what time and hopefully alert if not. (Dog always tells her other parent that she hasnât been fed)
I assumed these will work with the hub. I came here after a quick search. After looking here it seems this is the old gen and wonât work.
These were discounted at Lowes to under $10. Item says
NCZ-3014
SN: 8 41722 00001 1
505239
Works with Iris
Is there any support for this from smartThings now?
I just bought and installed one of the ceiling sensors using the NYCE driver (published in 2016) found here: http://nycesensors.com/support/ and it is reporting motion, temperature, humidity and battery status successfully.
This version of sensor: https://www.amazon.com/NYCE-NCZ-3043-HA-ZigBee-Ceiling-Motion/dp/B00X871DB2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1472145912&sr=8-1&keywords=NYCE+Ceiling
@SBDOBRESCU Bobby, I know this topic is over a year old but Iâm searching everywhere for an answer- I just got the NYCE Tilt. I did not use any handlers and (as you stated) it paired right up to ST and showed âNYCE Tiltâ. But it shows as âOpenâ and thereâs nothing I can do to get it to register as âClosedâ. After getting frustrated, I even pulled the battery, and ST still showed it as âOpenâ. Do I give up on this thing? Or is there a custom handler or smartapp that Iâm not finding? Thanks
I have the NYCE tilt sensor and it works without any issues, at least for me. On the device support page for the HA model, there is a zip file you can download that has the smartthings drivers.
Sorry, canât upload the zip file here for you.
Is it still reporting humidity. I cant get mine to do so.
I just checked and it seems to be reporting temperature and humidity levels.
Get Outlook for Androidhttps://aka.ms/ghei36
So I just copy and paste the code in the âMy device handlersâ, then âcreate new device handlerâ, then âFrom Codeâ, then âCreateâ, and âpublishââŚ
Correct?
Honestly, I forget the exact process as itâs been a year and I only have one of these sensors. I believe thatâs how I did it.
Was this an initial install or did it stop reporting the temp/humidity?
When you look at it in your device handler, is it: âsmartthings : NYCE Motion Sensor Seriesâ?
Does the device itself also show âNYCE Motion Sensor Seriesâ as the type?
Thatâs all I can think of that could be wrong off the top of my head.
I confirmed on the site that iâm getting humidity every 2 hours. Temperature seems more random but it is updating.
