No Internet, yet ST still notifies me

My router lost connection to the internet and I reeved a message on my cell phone indicating the ST hub was no longer connected to the my network. How is ST able to still communicate to my cell?

Also, once I got reconnected and powered off and on the ST hub to try an resolve very slow responses to commands like turing off/on lights. But that did not work. Any ideas?

The hub disconnect notification comes from the ST cloud, not the hub.

I’d contact support for the response time issue.

The message is generated and sent by the SmartThings servers in the cloud. It is sent because they can no longer communicate with your SmartThings hub, because your router is down…

lol this post makes me think of this girl at work who couldn’t understand how or why her personal pictures where not lost because “they were on the cloud” … ppl amuse me
