I deleted and re-onboarded the Arlo. However, non of the devices show up at my main location. I created a test location and do the onboarding, all devices show up. How do I make it show in the main location?

Does the Arlo Essential Wireless Doorbell work with this integration as a Doorbell? Iād like to use the Sonos speakers for the bell chime/notification. Will that be possible with this integration or do I just use Ring?
Did this get fixed for people? Iām still not receiving events from Arlo and it shows the battery at 0% on all devices, despite most of them being plugged in.
I was having the same issue. I deleted the Arlo linked service, manually deleted all of the cameras in the IDE, and reinstalled Arlo. Everything came back, and I now have motion, switch (on/off) capability, and I can even trigger recording from ST (and webCoRE).
So far with my experience to regain all functions, it is best to completely uninstall Arlo and reinstall it into SmartThings.
I noticed that my camera group that I created had moved to the top of my app screen yesterday, and that motion events were being noted in my timeline, so I assumed that the fixes had been rolled out without issue. I didnāt have to relink anything, and things seem to be working normally.
This is still broken. I deleted and recreated the link and it started working for two days and now thereās no history again and no events. Just really poor.
Motion and audio alerts are still broken for me. I can see battery level in SmartThings now, at least.
Perhaps my issues are connected to this new Arlo integration?
My Arlo Pro cameras wont record motion or video⦠I have struggled with this randomly since I migrated from classic Smartthings app to the new Smartthings App early October.
It is randomly that some cameras record motion and then orhers dont. Sometimes its all of them.
After reading this post for the first time during christmas, it might have a relation to this as I think it worked fine first weeks then early november could actually be the time my issues startedā¦
My setup:
- Arlo always āarmedā and record video when motion is detected
- Smartthings configured to enable/disable cameras
- 5 Arlo pro cameras
- Smartthings Hub 2018 V3
I have tried the following (over the last 3 weeks, recommended by Arlo support 2nd dec):
- checked that everything is updated. Phone, Arlo and smartthings
- Checked that Arlo mode is still set to āArmedā
- removing battery and inserting again
- restarted arlo base station
- Removing Arlo app and reinstall app
- When a camera dont detect motion and then record a video, I still manually can record a video and also manually can perform the motion detection test
- Removed all cameras from both smartthings, unlinked Arlo from ST
- Hard reset of Arlo
- Relinked everything
Nothing helped.
Still the same.
My guess is that the Enable/Disable feature from Smartthings doesnt do the job correctly or there is a bug in Arlo related to this. As camera is online and all functions seems to work, though it doesnt automatically record motion and then video in Arlo.
I have been using my cameras since 2017 and never experienced issues with the Smartthings integration. The same setup was running perfectly in the old smartthings app, and now its not working seemlessly.
Any ideas?
So this new integration - doesnāt appear within webCoRE ? I am trying to duplicate my previous piston in the new app AUTOMATIONS (basically, if any of my Arlo cameras are off for 90 minutes, then turn back on). I donāt see how I can duplicate that logic in the very basic new ST app AUTOMATIONS. Correct ? Thx.
Could you please clarify a few things with your setup
- Is the recording trigger set in the Arlo app (through the Arlo mode setting) to record on the cameras you are referring to that is not recording intermittently
or - is the trigger for the recording set from the ST app based on a condition (motion detected, then record on camera x) and that is not triggering recording on certain cameras which otherwise works well via the Arlo app

seems that something is garbled up on the location where the previous Arlo integration was located in. Could you please confirm that you have navigated to the linked services section of the ST app in the affected location and then deleted the Arlo integration from there?

if you have any entry for Arlo in the linked services / you have any automations/scenes created previously with any Arlo devices, please delete all of them for a clean install

Also login into ST IDE - https://account.smartthings.com/login, tap on locations, select the main location where the Arlo integ needs to be installed, tap on ādevicesā to verify that the location has no Arlo devices.
After that please perform a new install on this location. you donāt have to delete the integ from your other location as of this step.
if you still continue to see the issue , please login into the ST IDE - https://account.smartthings.com/login , and tap on the locations and tap on the location where the issue is still seen, copy the URL and send it via DM to me(the end of the URL has the location ID). i will create an internal ticket to our team to investigate what entities are still present in the location that is blocking a clean install of the new integ.
It is #1 . It is Arlo that is configured to record a 10 seconds video if a motion occurs.
ST are only set to enable and disable the cameras. I can actually fix it by manually login to the Arlo App and then manually disable the camera , wait 10 seconds and then enable again. Then it works, recording motion and video automatically. But thats not sustainable of course, because its random which cameras that doesnt work.
My guess is that somehow the enable feature from ST to Arlo has as an issue and doesnt āwake upā the camera 100%. Though it seems so (its enabled in Arlo, I can manually record video, and manually perform motion test).
I have created scenes that enable/disable the cameras, either when pushed or scheduled.
Furthermore I have only setup ST with Home Monitor to fire the Arlo siren if any motion for the one camera that is placed indoor (4 outdoor and 1 indoor). And then I have some schedules for Smart lightning (hue turns on at night if motion on an outdoor camera).
Everything worked without issues previusly using the classic app. When migrated to the new ST app early october the issue started some weeks after that.
Iāve been having issues with my Arlo devices showing up in my device list. iāve successfully linked the service, but they only seem to show in the samsung ide. this was working prior to the update. iāve tried everything from remove the services to deleting Arlo devices from the ide without success. what did work was creating a new location and linking arlo there. i was able to see and control the cameras. can you help clean up my main āHomeā location so i can use all my arlo devices there?
ive opened a ticket (1117659 | sconnect20122200254), but itās been a couple weeks without any resolution or status. i would greatly appreciate your help.

It has since fixed itself after deleting and reinstalling the connection multiple times. All working again.

Iām having a similar issue. I have Arlo Pro and Arlo Pro 3 cameras. Integration with ST is working well overall. However, while the arlo pro and pro 3 cameras both show as motion sensors in SHM they will not detect motion when the SHM is set to armed (stay and away). Iām leaving the arlo system set to ādisarmedā in the arlo app.
What action should I take for the arlo pro and pro 3 cameras to act as motion sensors? Basically I want the cameras to double as traditional motion sensors in addition to recording videos once an alarm event is triggered.
Hi @wolfewl have you fixed the issue with not visible arlo cameras in New smartthings app ? I have the same issue. They ar enlisted as placeholders but not in app at all.
No. Unfortunately I couldnāt find a resolution so I gave up and deleted them. Iām no longer trying to use the integration due to all of the issues.
