At least once a day when I am in the new app, I’m prompted to set up a new device named [TV] Samsung 7 Series (50). I don’t own a Samsung TV (and yes, I am sure there isn’t a rogue one on my network).
I do have a Vizio D70-F3 smart TV and the popups only happen when that TV is on, so I think it’s mis-detecting it somehow. It would be great to able to control it in SmartThings, but right now I’d settle for dismissing this prompt permanently. I’ve been clicking Don’t add but the popup keeps coming back. Anyone else seen anything like this and have any advice?

I get that sort of thing now and again, same as I often see a TV or two when I do a ‘Scan Nearby’. I assume it is my neighbours’ TVs using BlueTooth or something to let me know they are bigger and newer than my TV.
Thanks - I had seen this setting but the description made it seem like it controlled popups that would appear outside the app so I had ignored it (the popups I saw only appeared while I was in the SmartThings app itself). I’ve turned this setting off and will see if that does the trick.
FWIW, support got back to me with the same suggestion, so hopefully that will take care of it:
When WiFi and Bluetooth are on, the app will automatically search for the new devices in your surroundings so the device that is showing in your app to pair it may be your neighbor’s.
To avoid this you turn off the “Ask to add a new device” in the SmartThings app settings.
To do so please follow the below steps.
In the Smartthings app:
Menu > Settings > Toggle off “Ask to add a new device”
