@smart might know…
Any of the newer products released by Philips works with the old bridge as well as the new bridge if that was the question. The only difference being the new bridge is HomeKit enabled and the old one is not.
The question was if the new dimmer switch works with those other products.
Sorry! I am malfunctioning and under repairs today so it did not register. So please be a little patient with me today. The Philips Hue Dimmer Switch/Remote works with each and every Philips Hue products except for the “Beyond” range which are those 300$ plus table lamps etc.
I can guarantee that bloom, living colors, old Lighstrip, Lightstrip plus (shape light), lux, old and new hue bulbs all work. I am sure the new whites will work as well but I couldn’t find it anywhere being sold. I use one if these remotes to turn on the entire house with all the products mentioned above.
The only thing that confused me was it said each of remotes can control 10 bulbs but weird enough I am using 12 of the hues and family with one of these.
According to a post on the HUE forum, there was a quality control problem with the initial batch of HUE White bulbs and they were recalled. That could explain why Philips decided to release the dimmer switch alone (without a bulb). Originally the idea was to only release the kits first, and the individual dimmers in November .
Hopefully the dimmer kits will be out soon - I’ve been waiting.
I think it can only control 10 bulbs directly as in without the Hue Hub. It has to create its own Zigbee network for that, so it probably has a single digit device table or 0-9, aka 10. Once it’s connected to the Hue Hub, the functionality might open up since it talks to the hub, which can relay commands to any number of bulbs.
Thanks for clarifying. Will check out tomorrow by trying all my 25 hues and family and see what happens. but I am happy as missus is happy now. Wouldn’t it be great if we could tap into these from ST side… It has all the info when clicked and all that stuff.

for @Sticks18 ongoing work trying to get the remote to work dirrectly with ST
Yeap! @Sticks18 is the Hue Maha Guru! Maha means “Great” in the same language as Guru (Hindi).
Not sure if this is just speculation or confirmed. But did this only affect the White bulbs or should I be concerned about the Philips W&C add-on bulbs I bought already.
I am already using the bulbs you mention…
I am sorry…
What issue you are talking about?
I have some Hue White bulbs and some Hue White Dimming kits (Hue White + Dimming switch).
Where did you buy the hue whites??? Please share, buddy!
Here’s the post I was referring to; not sure how accurate the information is.
Haven’t seen anything official, but various posts on various Hue discussion sites say there was a too high rate of return for the first batch so they stop distribution while they figured it out . Not that every one was bad, just an unexpectedly high percentage and that’s why they withdrew them. It can happen with new products even in very good companies.
My guess is that if you have them and they’re working you should be fine. It didn’t seem to be a subtle issue.
I bought a kit (bulb + dimming switch) with extra few bulbs (haven’t tested them yet) from Denmark.
But I need 220V version.
Tested the kit only so far. Few standalone whites are still sealed in boxes.
That’s what I figured. Europe. We are still waiting for it to be readily available in US.
Dimmer kits are in stock at Amazon Amazon Link
I received my updated Hue bridge through the discounted program for previous owners. I got to say I’m not really impressed with the Homekit implementation. Maybe I’m not using it right, but I can’t figure out how to turn on all the lights in a room at once using Siri.
