New app - Network Error Couldn't add automation

Hi All,
Im having this issue now with both scenes and automations.

Same problem here upgraded to new app. Can’t edit current automations. Get a Network Error. Deleted a couple of scenes. Can edit scenes, but still can’t edit or create new automations. I can’t believe you forced people to “upgrade” to the new app that is less functional and basically broken. Truly ridiculous. I switched out my ring door bell for a new one, but because your new app is broken, I can’t edit any of my old automations to point them to the new door bell so now everything is broken. Why would you move users to a less capable app??? This issue has apparently been going on for more than a year based on comments here. Now I have to start looking for a product that actually works since you have apparently broken this one and not fixed it in a year!

I now get an error saying “can’t create more than 100 automations”. I’m nowhere near this limit. But all the button " actions" are listed below the automations. And having IKEA remotes (5button) with press and long press actions (plus middle button (which btw also seemed to have supported long press)) just itself adds 9 “actions”.

What is the solution?

I also have a network error when I try to save an automation changing the colour of a Phillips hue bulb. If the automation affects other parameters but not the colour I can save it properly :thinking:

I too have noted that error, I get a network error if I enable the colour option on the Hue bulbs in the automations. I can change the brightness and colour temperature but not the colour. If the colour is not selected it saves perfectly.
Anyone else other than Julien and I having this issue??

I am having the exact same issue. Creating Scenes or Automations works fine as long as I don’t change the color of the bulbs. When I change the color I get Network Error. I am using Kasa TP-Link bulbs. Very frustrating. Worked fine in the old app.

There is a bug in the iOS app regarding creating Scenes/Automations that change the color of RGB devices. The fix will likely require an app update. I’ll try to keep the community informed.

@Brad_ST this is also the case for using fan speed settings. I can save with no speed setting, but get the network error if specifying speed settings.

This bug is a known issue that will likely require an app update as well.
