Need Help with Visonic MCT=340E

jkp, i was able to add back the deleted one in the classic app by publishing again as you said. In ide i changed it to smartsense. There doesn’t appear to be a way to get into the new app. However, you said I should delete the device handler. If I do that, how would I ever be able to add another Visonic 340E? or are you saying I need to delete it because then ST New App will see it when I try to add it?

You should be able to add in the new app…

By clicking + (plus) in the upper right of the main dashboard
Choose Device
Click on the “by brand” section at the top of that screen
Scroll to bottom of screen and select scan nearby

It should automatically get added and use the smart sense open/closed device type.

That is what I read, SCAN NEARBY. Its not in there, New App. Not in OTHER as well. Also not in ZWAVE devices.

Oh! My bad… I forgot to mention… click on the by brand section at the top of screen

You know what, I just discovered the device I added in the classic app at the very bottom of all my devices in a section called "No Room Assigned (new app)

While that gets me back to whole now, I still don’t see a way to add in the future if classic app disappears after today???

Choose the “by brand” section at the top of the screen and not the “by device type”

Actually I did that too, but I just did it again and closely went through entire list, not there. BUT, at the top of the screen SCAN does appear after clicking + in previous screen. I don’t have a device to scan but you think that should work?

Im going to get more of these Visonic devices. I like these devices, all others i have had problems with. Only issues i had with these were battery left meter was all wrong but that wasn’t a biggie for me and may be corrected in new app / smartsense.

Can you post a screenshot for why you are seeing? Your app is up-to-date?

that was it. I wasn’t on latest version. Now I see “Scan Nearby”

But, I have a friend who ran into same exact problem as me with same Visconic device. Their hub and sensor are exactly the same. They called Samsung and they deleted their sensor. I had them pull battery, “Scan Nearby” (new app), put battery back in, red light on sensor came on, but nothing got picked up. We tried 3x. I said okay, download the classic app (samsung had them delete it yesterday when trying to help them). Now it is no longer available for download.

I don’t want to test out on mine because I am not sure I will be able to get it back.

Any thoughts on adding back Visonic by New App?

only thought is to try the steps mentioned above. There have been users reporting issues installing devices so hope ST resolves the issues with their next app update in November

Try defaulting the sensor.

I received an email from the main distributor/reseller company of the Visconic devices. I think they would be okay with me posting this as they want people to call SmartThings to share their disappointment in their decision.
