Lutron Pico, SmartThings & 3rd party stuff

Hi everybody,

I’d like to start using the Pico remotes I use with my Lutron Caseta system along with other home automation things like an on/off WiFi wall plug and the like, but SmartThings does not work directly with Pico’s it seems (based on other things found on this site).

I use the ST V3 Hub & the Lutron L-BDGPRO2-WH hub.

Does anyone know who to “work around” this now that ST has moved from Groovy? Is it possible to set up a Home Assistant and use that as a bridge? Can you connect both ST & HA to the same hub?

Thanks,

Update: solved is by installing a VM of Home Assistant as the Lutron hub can be connected to 2+ automation hubs and as HA sees the Pico’s that was handled very quickly, thanks all for your input!

  1. Yes, you can connect the Lutron SmartBridge to multiple platforms at the same time.

  2. Unfortunately, yes, you are correct: the Lutron picos are invisible to smartthings at the present time. There’s a small possibility that this may change in a year or so if Lutron adds matter support to their SmartBridge, but they haven’t announced it one way or the other. So we will just have to wait and see on that one.

  3. I would think the most feature rich integration at this point would be to get a hubitat. Then use the Lutron SmartBridge Pro to connect the Picos to that (they have a really good integration). And then use one of the community- created integrations between hubitat and Smartthings.

It would be tedious to set up, but it should work well once you get everything going.

Check the quick browse lists in the community-created wiki for the “edge services“ list to find the hubitat integration options.

Thanks!!! Will dive into this, and I have a spare Hubitat which gathers dust so I should be set, just use patience and should be ok.

Thanks again!

Hubitat requires the Smart Bridge Pro version because this is a telnet based interface and only the pro version supports it.

Good point. in the first post the op says they have the pro model, but I should have called it out for anyone else reading this thread. Thanks for the reminder! :sunglasses:
