@2l82try1 I can spare an extra 12723 or two myself, since the community resulted in me getting the deal, I have no issue giving back. I’ll be elated when my allegedly “shipped” order show up in Fedex’s system today (I hope, fingers crossed!).
Does anyone know if they flag/shut down accounts that abuse the Zip variable pricing? I also used the script/$15 off $50 coupon combo to get a Iris (linear/GoControl/etc…) Z-wave garage door opener for $46 shipped… It’s on its way, but I don’t want to keep using these tricks and get my Lowes account shut down.
Others have used and abused the system far more than me. While there have been plenty of orders cancelled. I don’t remember anybody ever saying they had their account closed. I’ve even used the $10/$15 off $50 for local pick up. Gotten a funny look at pu counter when I have a $50.46 order and a $15 off code, but they always honored it.
Speaking from experience (worked retail many moons ago), that wasn’t a “funny” look so much as a “knowing” look. I worked in auto repair so people would try all sorts of crap, gaming coupons was one that I think most people in retail, even me when I was managing, don’t care about (we don’t have to worry about it coming back on us, so long as the coupon scanned and was valid according to the register, I didn’t give a crap what it did). Some of the crazier stuff people tried to pull was mind boggling in comparison. Fake coupons, from a step above MS Paint, to nearly legit looking, we had a free oil change coupon that was being sold on eBay for $2… it was obviously not official and didn’t scan properly, but they found the one point of weakness in the system… management used free oil changes like customer service currency. My business cards had it printed on the back, I had wrote “next oil change on me” on work orders… if you were a loyal or disgruntled customer worth keeping to any degree, it wasn’t crazy to think you’d get hooked up. So, when these eBay coupons came out they worked… well, I was never given a total loss but the company took a pretty serious hit (I worked in the same area as the HQ, so I would get sporadic inside info). Our loss prevention team visited the seller with local PD and I left before the trial started but I can only imagine whoever it was ended up doing jail time.
@joewom, $14 each would cover my costs (including first class shipment) with $1 wiggle room… I’m only selling one or two but shoot me a PM and I can let you know.
You are giving the cashiers at Lowe’s ( or any Big Box retailer ) too much credit.
I have a commercial account at HD and more times than not ( before they automated it so I just enter my phone number into the pin pad ) I would have to argue with the cashiers ( even the ones at " pro desk") to get my discount. I even had one insist that I needed show him my Lowes Commercial card to get my Home Depot commercial discount. Even now I get a $10 off $100 or $20 off $200 code every week , only good for my account, most of the cashiers don’t know what to do with it because they don’t see them.
The amount of the discount at HD is based on your volume of purchases. Lowe’s is a straight 5% off everything . ( same discount as using your Lowe’s credit card ) . You need to have a commercial account in a business name to get the discount.
I usually get the $20 off $200 on Tuesdays about noon, if I did not buy much the week before LOL.
I remember people selling the USPS Lowe’s moving coupons on Fleabay. I know that Lowe’s changed the way they were issued a few years ago to TRY and stop the abuse. It was a great scam, stop by the post office, grab a stack of change of address packs, then go to HD and use the Lowe’s coupon to get 20% off.
On the bright side I just got notification from Fedex that a label had been created for my Tap. Of course it says scheduled for delivery Thu, and that is the day of my state primary, so I will be at the polls from 6am, till at least 9:30 PM. Hopefully wife doesn’t get curious and open the box.
Well the third generation of their line of Z-Wave devices (14xxx series) have got to be about ready to launch any day now, all the product videos are on the GE YouTube page, all the Z-Wave Plus certifications are there…
