I have two devices (a switch and a plug) that turned themselves off on their own last night (at around 1:30am). Is there any way to identify what caused a device to turn off? This has been happening for about a week now and I’d like to know what is causing it
In SmartThings App, check out bottom-right:
Then Menu > History
Not sure if that will reveal anything other than they turned on or off
As well INDIVIDUAL SWITCH-RELATED ROUTINE SETTINGS:
Your Switch and Device Cards > Routines
See if any of the Power On/Power Off/Power On and Off settings have been activated
As well GENERAL ROUTINES:
Bottom Menu > Routines > Search
Search for your device name to see if it’s in any routines
Another thought:
Do you use Google Home ? Perhaps a device and routine has been activated in there?
One More Place:
Go to MySmartThingsAdvanced
Drill into your devices
Poke around there in “In Use By” and “Events”
I’ll add even one More Place:
Amazon Alexa. If you have it linked to ST… check if Hunches is enabled in the Alexa app. If it is, it could be creating Routines in Alexa. To solve… turn off Hunches and remove any Routines it may have created in Alexa to turn off the light.
