Landscape Lighting Control

Just saw the other responses… Don’t need to respond. Thanks.
Same question as Scott17, but I’m looking for a replacement for my older 100 watt. I purchased a 200 watt from Home Depot, but it powers up in the OFF mode when plugged in. I have to assume, you are not having that issue with your 300 watt Moonray. If that is the case, I will order one. This is becoming a problem with electronically controlled devises, but hopefully some are thinking ahead. I just purchased LED strip with controllers that have memory so they always power up in the mode they were unplugged in.

I decided to take a chance and purchased the Moonrays 95433 300-Watt Power unit. Don’t know why the instructions don’t include this, but this is how it works:
The unit defaults to AUTO “A” after power is removed from the unit. To change it to default to ZERO “0” or “Always on” I set the display to ZERO “0” (don’t know if this step is needed…) unplugged the unit and while holding down both the up and down buttons, I plugged it back in. The display read “1” but when I unplugged and re-plugged it back in, it now defaults to ZERO “0” Now it is automation read!

Thank you scott17…

@tgauchat Any recommendations on cheap Chinese landscape LEDs? Always looking for advice from someone with experience.

I believe these below are the ones I bought, but the item is no longer available. I’m sure any Amazon recommendations with similar specs are likely to be … similar.

There are quirks like being longer than standard halogen bulbs. As well as checking carefully the angle (wide vs narrower), and color temperature. Out of a couple dozen of these, I think only 1 has failed.
