That is correct. Here’s the process I used and it worked for +20 of these.
-
Take out the plastic tab to activate.
-
Search for a device with the + sign and scan nearby.
-
The app will time-out.
-
Go to No room assigned and you’ll find “Thing”.
-
Log in to IDE and modify to “Tyco …” and put it in the proper room.
----- This is where things get “interesting” for if you don’t do these steps below the sensor either never provides event updates or remain continuously in OPEN state with 0% battery. -
Open the top cover of the sensor the flip out the battery.
-
Start the device scanning process in the app. (Process : see above)
-
Hold the tamper switch for 3 seconds (min) and 5 seconds (max)
-
After the 3 to 5 sec. wait (step #8) put the battery back (positive on top - facing you) while continuing to hold the tamper switch.
-
Immediately the green LED flashes, after a brief interval solid green for approx. 4 seconds.
-
Release the tamper switch.
-
At this point or in-between you’ll find the app re-listing the sensor again.
-
Now - its working as envisaged.
[Steps 8 to 12 must be completed within 100 seconds]
