That is correct. Here’s the process I used and it worked for +20 of these.

  1. Take out the plastic tab to activate.

  2. Search for a device with the + sign and scan nearby.

  3. The app will time-out.

  4. Go to No room assigned and you’ll find “Thing”.

  5. Log in to IDE and modify to “Tyco …” and put it in the proper room.
    ----- This is where things get “interesting” for if you don’t do these steps below the sensor either never provides event updates or remain continuously in OPEN state with 0% battery.

  6. Open the top cover of the sensor the flip out the battery.

  7. Start the device scanning process in the app. (Process : see above)

  8. Hold the tamper switch for 3 seconds (min) and 5 seconds (max)

  9. After the 3 to 5 sec. wait (step #8) put the battery back (positive on top - facing you) while continuing to hold the tamper switch.

  10. Immediately the green LED flashes, after a brief interval solid green for approx. 4 seconds.

  11. Release the tamper switch.

  12. At this point or in-between you’ll find the app re-listing the sensor again.

  13. Now - its working as envisaged.
