Is it possible for a Zigbee device to pair with the hub, but never fully complete the pairing process?

Oh well, I guess I’ll move forward with the custom device type and SmartApp. I mean, its a cube acting as a remote control, how cool is that?

SmartThings community did it first. Lots of people doing variations on this one, and it works reliably. It just costs more.

A wooden cube that controls lighting [OBSOLETE]

I built a wooden cube that has a sensor inside that talks to the Mood Cube SmartApp to control my Hue bulbs. Each face has a colored wooden inlay (held in place by magnets) that tells you which color scene will be activated. Hidden behind two of the circles is the bolt that holds the cube together.
