Is anyone else having huge problems with WeMO integration?

I am right behind you on that. Just waiting to patch the whole in my pocket that replacing the Lutron Caseta switches made. Definitely sending Wemo to graveyard is next.

My biggest mistake was asking ST if WeMo was fully implemented and not the members of the community, because if I knew then what I know now I would have gone with another platform. Their product list says Labs but no sub note saying not fully working, this was not the way to go, as it has just got many users angry. This type of misdirection is not good business as far as I am concerned. I have invested lots of time and money into ST and now wonder if I made a huge error.

If I knew, I would not have bought Wemo. These are not only ST’s fault. They are just not reliable. I spent hours on the phone with Wemo support and exchanged numerous emails with Wemo and IFTTT, just to be able to use my switches with IFTTT. And guess what the result was? Nothing happened. IFTTT blames WEMO and WEMO support blames IFTTT. And then there is ST that comes on top. If I knew what I know now, I would NOT look for another controller but for another way to control the devices. WEMO is just garbage!

I disagree about WeMo as mine works great and reliable without ST. I have used it with IFTTT with no problems. The only problem I had was my WeMo devices were far from the Router so setup became a problem. But I added a router in bridge mode and no problems since. As I had said in original post my problem is that WeMo works but ST app does not show proper state. My WiFi Honeywell Thermostat using device type written by members works with ST, but would be nice if the ST staff wrote something better. Even my Jawbone U2 band works with ST. WeMo is my only problem.

 Which app are you using with your Honeywell thermostats ? My Wemo switches work perfectly with IFTT and Echo. They just don’t work with WeMo app, go figure. I’ll let you know how they work with ST, V2 came this morning, but it is too nice to not be working outside while I have the sun.

I have the RTH 9580 and using the Device type posted here in this part of the forum it was started by Jody.
Here is the thread Honeywell Smart Wi-Fi Thermostat Compatibility
Just to let you know the code I use is available on the site and so is the icons as one of the guys modified the code and made some nice icons.

Was told same thing before I purchased st. Then after was told well not quite still some problems and always blamed belkin. Wemo alone works perfect has from day 1.

Check the ge switches before you install as I ordered some from St and once received seen that they were only compatible with incandescent lights. Will not work on cfls or leds. Had to send them back as all I have are led and CFL. Who uses incandescent nowadays.

Interesting. I’ve been buying all mine from Lowes and Amazon with no issues. I’m curious how they could not be compatible with anything and everything. Hell I’ve got a couple controlling bathroom fans. I imagine there is a relay in there switching power and nothing else real fancy…

Some require a certain amount of load to work and leds cfls just don’t have enough. I had to send the ge switches back. Also said on the packaging that it was compatible with incandescent which would include motor loads

Strictly on/off switches will work with anything up to the rated power draw. CFL/LED use so little power that they do require a special dimmer. The old dimmers for incandescent lights would only cut the power down to about 10W which is still full power for LED. The new ones draw it down to as low as 1W or 0.5W .

Yes I know I oversimplified it and there are electricians gritting their teeth at my improper terminology, but it is late and I was trying to put it in laymen terms.

I just received a v2 hub. It can’t see any of my WeMo switches. My Echo picks them up almost instantly but ST can’t see any of them. This is a ST problem 100%.

I was able to have SmartThings find my Wemo’s again when I moved the ST ethernet from the modem to my wifi router instead. They all work again, no problem. 3 motion sensors, 3 switches, 1 insight, 1 light switch.

I’d like to join in on the fun. I’ve had Wemo switches and plugs for two years and been using ST for about a year now. Ever since upgrading to the v2 hub I’ve been having problems with the Wemo integration.

About every two weeks ST stops controlling the Wemo devices (wall switches, insight, and plugs). The only way to resolve it is to go into the Wemo smart app and deselect the Wemo devices, then re-add them.

Anyone else having similar problems?

Tonight was another night where WeMo didn’t come on as it should and then when I tried to turn it on from ST no go. I finally turned it on from the WEMo app. What pisses me off the most is I contacted ST prior to buying the WeMo switches and the ST platform and was told that WeMo is fully integrated. I then had an electrician install neutral wires in every switch, which cost a huge amount plus the township permit and the cost of the switches. I am lucky I only bought three switches so I am out around $650.00. ST has promised that they were working on it and then they said after V2 hub, now I get an email suggesting I purchase GE switches. Talk about putting the knife in my back. I feel like I was lied to more than once and nobody take responsibility for this.

I am having issues with the Wemo Motion device no longer updating its motion status. I must go into the ST app and refresh the device and it will start working again for approx 5 min. Anyone else experiencing this or know of a fix? I have unplugged the motion for 15 min…I have turned off the power to ST for 15min…both at the same time. I have deleted the device and readded it through the Smart App…I am running out of ideas as to what to do.

I am sorry to say this but ST has dropped the ball with the WeMo integration. I suggest you use there support request and complain to them. Maybe if enough of us complain they will get their developers to give us what was promised.

Is anyone else having issues with Wemo? I can control the switches from my phone, but none of my automations seem to be able to control the switches…The logs show that switch was turned off, but the switch is still on…It started a few days ago.
