Thanks; I was able to consolidate to a single version of a smart app adapted from Dry the Wet Spot allowing me to trigger multiple close / off commands from multiple sensors. I of corse renamed it “turn off the water” to make it easy for me to understand. If I get some time in the next week I will try the integrated device type approach you have taken and let you know.
I see on the Lowes page that someone said that the device can measure water consumption when used with Iris. Has anyone checked this with SmartThings?
I am very interested in this device. Our house was flooded a couple years ago by a failed water valve in our dishwasher and ended up pumping hot water into the house for 8 hours while we were at work. We currently have moisture sensors. I’ve been looking for a flow meter to check water usage when we’re away, and then turn off the water. This would alleviate the need to have a battery powered moisture sensor at every sink, toilet, ice maker, dishwasher, etc, in the house.
Now that’s a deal! You sure it’s not just an empty package?
I haven’t installed it yet, but it seems really well built and the cord is 10’ long which is also nice. Now I am going to order a few PEQ Water Sensors from Best Buy @ $39.99 which are the same as the SmartThings water sensors but cheaper.
Says clearance? I wonder if they are discontinuing it? Price is $160 at my lowes currently
Not sure, we need a Lowes insider to inform us of all of the home automation deals
You can be the insider by telling us which Lowes and if there were more available!

@johnconstantelo
I love what you did with the integration. Could you dumb it down for me in a series of steps. I bought the ST, leaksmart shut off and utilitech water sensors, but I can’t seem to get the communication between the shut off and the sensors. You seen to have come up with a pretty decent solution to integrate the two.
Hi @joemill, no problem. Here’s what you should now do:
Once you’ve added the devices to ST, you now want to go into Damage & Danger and select Leaks and Floods. Provide a name, like “Dishwasher Area” and tap next. Select your utilitech moisture sensor, pick what you want to do for notifications, and then under “Turn on these alarm”, select your shut off valve. If you used the code I provided above, your shut off valve will be in that list.
I used a code provided here thanks to @johnconstantelo (Iris Smart Water Shutoff Valve?) to merge a water shut off valve with a leak sensor. For some reason, I am probably not doing something right, and its not working. If someone is willing to help me troubleshoot, I would be most appreciative, and willing to pay as a token of appreciation
Send me a private message with a few details? … I’ll have some time later this afternoon (in a couple hours?).
@joemill, take a look at my reply to your other post:
Thanks! It works great
Can anyone that owns this device tell me if it can be installed on a vertical section of pipe? Seems like all the pics are horizontal. Wasn’t sure if the gray part just sits on the valve or if it gets secured to it. Thanks.
Edit to Add response from Waxman
In regards to your email; vertical and horizontal position are acceptable, just not upside down.
Thank you for your inquiry.
Thanks for the clarification for everyone here!
Can you provide a copy of this “turn off the water” app? We would like to test it with our new Z-Wave shutoff valve controller in combination with the Smartsense Moisture sensor. (see EcoNet valve controller at: http://www.econetcontrols.com/EBV-105-water-shutoff.php#
That’s cool but all my water shutoffs are not levers. How about one that spins a twist valve real tight?

Just adding a 90°turning robot to a lever valve is most cost effective. You can replace the entire valve with the Lowes Iris and similar more expensive units.
