Since I got firmware 61 my Ikea leak sensors and timmerflotte temp sensors have a tendency to drop of my network. Not all of them together but often about 4 at the same time. I typically need to remove and replace batteries or press the pairing button to get them back online.
Anyone else lose having this issue or is it just a me problem?
These battery powered thread devices are all close to mains powered thread outlets or bulbs so ought to be close enough to thread repeaters.
The odd think is that the myggspray motion sensors in the same spot on don’t have this issue.
They went offline here about every other week. Hasn’t happened since I have replaced the last remaining Eve Energy plugs (40 € each) with IKEA GRILLPLATS plugs.
I’ll try to find out what Thread stack they are on…

Behavior of the replacements in the mesh:
Ventilator Wohnzimmer improved from 4/1/7 to 0/4/10 for LQ1/LQ2/LQ3 relationships.
Ventilator Schlafzimmer improved from 3/3/7 to 1/4/10.
Cam 2 Steckdose improved from 2/1/9 to 0/1/12.
Cam 3 Steckdose changed from a child device to an active router.
Kühlschrank preserved its already excellent 0/1/14 router profile and became the apparent parent of the Türschloss.
Nachttischlampe improved most dramatically, from 2/6/4 to 0/1/14.
Overall, the replacements appear to have strengthened the router layer: fewer weak LQ1 relationships, more LQ3 routes, and better geographical distribution.
Edit: side note: I have to run the Zigbee firmware on my Aqara FP300, because when I switch it to Thread, the whole mesh network becomes unstable. Took a while to figure that out.
Hmm. I’m also running a lafaer presence sensor which also drops offline at the same time. It’s pretty useless as a presence sensor too (as an aside I have sonoff, lafaer and Meross presence sensors and they have all been rubbish)
Yep. And on different locations and different hubs. Cannot reach them physically at the . moment. One is (together with a good old aeotec water sensor) on an important water pipe that can freeze in winter.
I’ve lots of sensors reporting as offline, but they are not. I can see them changing status in the app even when they are “offline”. They are triggering automations etc
Some of mine do go offline and come back online after a few days. I originally just took the batteries out and put them back in but now just leave them to their own devices.
Just as a comparison I did not pair my timmerflotte with smartthing hub v3 but to my echo show 8 and after I adjusted the position of grillplats which is on the floor above so far I don’t have any problem with my timmerflotte on the same floor as grillplats as well as another timmerflotte one floor above with no disconnection for weeks, I am just sharing my timmerflotte through matter from echo
So far I have resisted myself consolidating my v2 and v3 hub as well as my tbr on my echo show 8 with a mixture of mostly zigbee, very few zwave and growing number of matter over thread devices (all from IKEA)
I have a grillplats and bilresa dual button paired with the v3 hub directly so far have zero problem
It’s fine to wait a few days if it’s something that has a fairly passive role. However if it’s something like a movement sensor or a water leak sensor I wouldn’t be prepared to wait a few days for it to come back online.
There is actually an internal watchdog that is supposed to restart the device, but I have my doubts about whether it was implemented correctly. Thread really needs something in the lines of like Wake-on-LAN to trigger a restart of the stack or SoC; after all, these are tiny computers with IP connectivity.
