I am able to see the live feed for my TAPO TC82 cameras in the SmartThings via mobile app and desktop but get a network error on Samsung Family Hub Fridge Smartthings Camera app

As the title says, my Tapo cameras are not showing any recordings or live view on my family hub refrigerator. This is our second family hub fridge. In my previous one, we had Arlo cameras and those did work, but stopped working about 6 months ago. I never called in a ticket because I thought it was an issue with our fridge as it was on its last legs (we also switched to Tapo cameras about 3 months ago), but I was surprised to find them not working on the new fridge.

I spoke with Samsung and they stated that Tapo cameras are not compatible with Family Hub, which seems odd since they are compatible with the Smartthings app and you would think it’s a simple pass-through of the data as it does with my Echo Show devices. (Unfortunately, I no longer have my Arlo cameras to check and see if this issue persists as Samsung stated Arlo’s are compatible).

Does anyone have any insight as to why this is the case? Samsung Smartthings and Tapo recently announced an alliance, so it seems odd that their products wouldn’t work the same across their ecosystems.

Contact Tapo support

This isn’t a Tapo issue. My Tapo cameras work fine with Smartthings. It’s Samsung Family Hub that has decided not to support them, even though it has Smartthings built in.

Yes it is because their integration is not supported on your fridge, they need to make that work.
