Hub Lockdown

A couple of months ago when I was first setting up SmartThings to migrate away from Trane (Formerly Schlague), I made a huge mistake. After I got all of my devices migrated and running in SmartThings, I accidently deleted the hub object. This of course turned into a major fiasco trying to get them re-added until I realized that I had to Exclude them to start Including them again.

This brought me to my ultimate question. When will Samsung add the ability to Lockdown the hub to prevent its deletion (Security from making that mistake while devices are attached). They need to add a feature in the Hub settings to allow someone to toggle off the ability to remove the Hub. While in this state, you cannot remove the hub and you go in and toggle that setting off. I am sure I am not the only one that has made this mistake in the past. While I am not a developer, I am sure it would be a small modification to add the option to lock down the up so it never gets accidently removed.

Deleting of your hub has been an active topic for over a year now so I would not hold out hope for a hub lockdown feature any time soon. Do submit your feature request to ST in the app by tapping on Menu and select Contact us.

It would also be great if ST added the ability to restore from the cloud backup of the hub for a set period if a hub gets accidentally deleted. Currently if you delete a hub… all backups are wiped out with it.
