Hub Firmware Beta 0.35.x

Woah, this definitely looks like a big one! Following for sure!

I know I am. Although at the moment I’m still running ST as well, all deviced piped thru the other using HubConnect :grinning:

Best of both worlds.

All left to HA and hubitat

I only have ST for zwave devices as hubitat C7 still has issues

By the time ST completes its move to the new api we will all be gone

Can’t wait to test the new beta!

Really looking forward to the details on this one.

The beta is now active in Centercode. You can see details about local rules on the summary page towards the bottom in the section titled “Local Rules Execution”

Firmware updates will begin rolling out shortly. Please note that the rollout will happen over the next couple of days so you may not see your hub updated until Friday. We will post here once the rollout is complete.

Happy testing!

This looks really cool! Can’t wait to try it.

We’ve been testing this internally for a while too and it’s pretty awesome. I’ve got a ton of lights that come on at the same time in our upper level each AM and the first time that rule executed locally there was ZERO popcorning. It was pretty amazing. Looking forward to hearing everyone’s feedback.

For the locally executed rules, does this open up additional local execution over the current Smart Lighting application that is locally executed?

Looking forward to this one @blake.arnold any idea if sunrise/sunset will be soon to follow? That’s a big one for me.

Isn’t this already locally executed with the Smart Lighting smart app?

It is, but the if/then scope of Smart Lighting is the limiting factor.

Exactly. The automation creator has much more flexibility for multiple conditions and multiple actions.

@blake.arnold any idea if that pesky limit for number of automations in the mobile app has been raised/removed? I suspect there will be an influx of people using the standard automation creator soon

We’re already working on that. Sunrise/sunset was handled by Weather Station as a child app of Hello Home (which was a core part of the Classic app). We’ve already migrated that to be a child app of SmartLighting so it was unimpacted by Classic migration. It will eventually go local as well.

Any chance you can get the ikea motion sensor and buttons to execute locally?

Also when will STHM work locally?

So are Z-Wave OTA updates from the 0.34.x beta shelved again?

Will presenceSensor running local work with Life360 presence, or just ST mobile presence/tags?

Hi @blake.arnold, with “Automations” now running on the RulesAPI will this mean newly created automations with locally connected devices will run locally
