Hub 2 Backordered vs ships 5-7 days (AKA all shipping related posts, please)

Thanks! Yes, October is my smarten my house project, so I’m going to be hitting the stores. I’m still making decisions on what switch where, what sensors, and especially the cameras. I will most definitely check out the multis. Kind of exciting.

Samsung shop pre-orders shipping. I will get mine tomorrow.

I ordered a second hub along with multipurpose sensors from ST shop on 09/21 (12 days ago). Back then the hub was listed as backorder and shipping in 10-14 days. The sensors were also listed as backorder and shipping about a week after the hub. A few days later the sensors were not listed as backorder anymore but 2 weeks later the hub is still listed as backorder and shipping in 10-14 days. I assume that the orders are not queued for 2 weeks. Should I rather assume that the shipping in status is only valid when the item turns backorder, that the hub had just turned backorder 2 weeks ago and that everything will be shipped within the next 2 days?

The shop really needs some love. But, at least in my experience, customer service could use some work as well.

I ordered a hub from the ST shop site on Sept 24. The site said that it would ship in 10-14 days. As of today it’s been 18 days. Having heard nothing from ST I sent shop@smartthings.com an email yesterday (Sept 23) including the original order confirmation email asking for an update on the status of my order. I’ve received no response. Granted, yesterday was Sunday but, you know, it’s 2015 and that is becoming less and less important.

At the very least, I would have appreciated an email on the 14 day letting me know something, anything, along with an automated response to my email. At this point I don’t even know if it got to the right place/queue (other than the email didn’t bounce).

I emailed ST this morning and they emailed me back promptly to apologize saying that the hub is a bit behind but that it should ship soon although they don’t have an exact date. They offered me to cancel my purchase so that I could place an order on amazon.com (out of stock there too but still I’ve been told it would be quicker). Anyway it’s not an option for Canadian customers and as far as I can see it’s not available yet on amazon.ca.

Anyway, I also received an email later this afternoon with the same info and cancelled my order with ST and placed an order with amazon.

this thread is depressing.

Ordered Oct 2nd. Both locations still backordered. Haven’t gotten an email from ST.

I placed my order with Amazon about 3 days ago. Today I received an email letting me know the I should expect delivery this coming Tuesday.

Although it’s still listed as shipping in 10-14 days my order status swiched to ready from backorder on my ST shop profile.

I canceled my ST order and bought it from amazon. Someone was selling a used one via amazon warehouse. $80 + tax shipped 2 day prime. Got it just before Amazon standard ones were in stock.

Working great so far.
