Honeywell thermostat not showing in smartapps

I have a Honeywell T5 thermostat that use the Honeywell Home App.
The IDE showes “placeholder” for type and “Resideo|:Honeywell Home Thermostat|:undefined” for the ID and it works fine.

Wifi thermostats use a new type of capability which isn’t supported by legacy SmartApps. You will need SmartApps which support the new capability.

It wasn’t a problem with a smart app but with adding the thermostat itself. Turns out its a known bug with TCC thermostats set up as heat only (which mine is). The fix that support finally came back with was to set the actual thermostat on the wall up as a heat and cool thermostat and then add it to ST again. This did fix the problem and get it to work but I’m not thrilled that I had to set it up that way, hopefully they eventually fix the heat only setup and I’ll try it again in the fall.

Hello has anyone that reached out to support heard back about this? I have a Honeywell Thermostat and can’t get
the apps to see it, as others have commented.

To previous commenter, mine is booth heat and cool, but it’s interesting that it works for you after the setup stage.

You can resolve the issue by going into the IDE and selecting a different device type. Changing it to “Honeywell Lyric Thermostat” will make it available. “Zwave Thermostat” also seems to make it available. However “Zwave Battery Thermostat” makes it unavailable, so it looks like the app is somehow excluding battery powered thermostats. We should make a request of the apps to allow battery powered thermostats as well.

The main difference I see between the battery powered and non-battery powered devices is that the non-battery (aka working one) thermostat lists “thermostatSetpoint” and “heatingSetpoint”, while the battery powered one only has “heatingSetpoint”. The SmartApp is probably keyed off of the “thermostatSetpoint”.

I’m not able to see my lyric thermostats in the ‘Thermostat Mode Director’ app, even after changing them to the Honeywell Luric Thermostat DTH.

Anyone else seeing the same issue?

Using a Honeywell RTH6580WF. SmartThings used to work fine with it, but now it is spotty. As others have mentioned ST is having trouble with the Heating Temperature. It works fine, then it shows 55 for the heating temp. I unpair and repair them and it works for a few hours then goes back to 55. ST logs show the temperature going up and down every few hours. I use the heating temp to control other devices, and ST is making those devices turn on and off. Still no fix for this? How about some other way to control devices based on heating temp?

It took a while but looks like all my Honeywell stats are showing temperatures on the tile now.
