Honeywell 'smart' thermostat

Hello,

I’ve been using Honeywell Zwave smart thermostat (T-6 Pro-series) for very several months. Connection is +/- fine, but routines not so much. I discovered that a single run of a routine will not change the temperature, it needed 2 runs to sort of wake the communication up… so rather than trying to have double routines, I programmed the thermostat … thinking I could override if needed. (Not exactly a great use of smart tech) (Similar concern reported here

While I can see the thermostat goes to ‘sleep’ mode correctly and comes off sleep mode correctly, in the middle of the night the thermostat still jumps to the daytime temp (its winter) waking us up in a sweat. The times vary between 3am and 4:30am. It is never the same time, never ‘on the hour’ rather something like 3:32am. Makes me think there is a gremlin in the system…

How could investigate or better yet, fix this??? I would prefer to use routines, but as mentioned, not feeling the joy of routines that try and trigger an event twice.

many thanks!

First rule of thumb: post screenshots of any Routines that are not working as expected

Okie, here is the screenshot of the gremlin temperature change and me waking up and turning it back down. At 7am the device schedule kicks in to bring heat up to 68 again.

I’ll recreate the time based routine and share too for your guidance.
