Home Hub routine start time should stay with hub, not follow phone

I have found the following behavior in the ‘new’ app, and Samsung/SmartThings CS confirms it (and apologizes):

Say I create a routine as follows—If Away, run Turn Lights On at 5PM—and then travel to a distant place, the routine will follow the time on my iPhone when it resets for the new location. This is not useful (for security purposes) if it means my lights will stay off at night but come on in the middle of the day.

Please create a way that times in routines can be set to follow the time zone the Hub is in (my Home location) regardless of the time zone the Phone App moves to. Alternately, if someone knows how to achieve this, please tell how (and I apologize in advance for my ignorance).

Thank you!

Could you please provide a screenshot of the routine?

I suppose this may not be the most efficient way to achieve my aims, but it’s an artifact of routines imported from the old app.

It’s that 4:30PM that seems to be the hitch. And the last time this came up was Oct. 2023 (no chance to find out since), so maybe it’s been fixed since then?

If you have a ST hub you could try the virtual calendar in the following edge driver.

This has been an issue for me since I started using Smartthings a few years ago. I switched all time based routines to the Virtual Calendar device mentioned by @Paul_Oliver and haven’t had a single issue since.

Thank you, Terri and Paul. I will give it a try.
