Is anybody having problems with the history tab of their devices not updating/working? All of my devices that have a history tab seem to not show any recent events and even after refreshing they still won’t update. The devices themselves seem to work and so do routines, just can’t see recent events in the history tab. I use it for debugging/basic maintance of certain devices and with it not working I can’t do this. Seems to have happened within the past few hours. But I do have devices that haven’t updated in days and these devices seem to be devices that I haven’t checked on their history tab since that day in which I checked in on them last time.
P.S. All devices seem to be working along with their associated routines, it’s just the history tab that isn’t updating for me to keep an eye on what is going on with each device.
It updated once since I wrote last, but still won’t update on a refresh. Seems to be delayed. Wonder if it has to do with Amazon Web Services as they seem to be having problems again.
Hi, @MPHDodgeDaytona
How much time has passed since the devices changed state and you checked the history?
The History tab doesn’t show events in real-time; it takes 5 ~ 10 min for it to synchronize. Here’s a post I made in the past where something similar was asked.
The events were taking about 1 hour originally, then later in the night they came in faster at about 30 minutes. But, by early this morning to now they seem to be updating within about 5 seconds. I think it had to do with the Amazon Web Services being down again.
This happened to me today. No event history under the individual device and none in the app history. Looking at this view it seems to have been missing for a week as it shows last Friday as the last reporting day, excluding today’s events. But today’s events only started at 6:53am. I closed the app, re-launched it and nothing changed. Force closed the app a couple of times and then tried relaunching it a few more time and after about an hour the history was back.
Hi, @cavallino47
I suggest you report this to Customer Support since this falls within their scope and there are no agents present in this forum. You can do it through the app following the steps below:
Open the SmartThings app
Go to the menu tab at the bottom-right corner.
On this page, select the option “contact us” and then go to “Error reports”
Select the topic related to your issue and follow the steps to submit your support request
For me it seemed to be related to the Amazon Web Services being down on the East Coast of the US. Amazon Web Services have been up and down ever since they had their outage, they are normally no outages from them, but it’s been crazy every since and all services that rely on them have had issues. Mine has been working fine since the next day after my systems showed problems. If it continues and you don’t believe your problems are related to the Amazon Web Services outage (especially if your not in an effected area) I would follow what nayelyz said and contact support.
