In 2016 I bought a Smartthings V2 hub and two GE Z-Wave Wireless Smart switches # 12722. I have a large room with a switch and light on each end (north and south). They are hardwired independently, one switch to one light.
I created two Smartthings AUTOMATIONS, when I installed them.
AUTOMATION#1 if North light turns on / off do the same for South light.
AUTOMATION#2 if South light turns on / off do the same for North light.
I have my Amazon Echo connected to Smartthings for voice commands.
(Normal operation for the last two years is to have one light react to the other in 0.5 seconds. Some days may be slightly more or less, but always something I could live with. This is the same for physical or voice commands, unsure about the app, I rarely use it.)
Starting approximately 4/1/2019;
If I physically turn on / off either switch there is a six second delay before the other reacts. (this is bad / not normal)
If I use the Smartthings app to turn on / off either switch there is a 0.5 second delay before the other reacts. (this is good / normal)
If I use Amazon Echo to turn on / off either switch there is a 0.5 second delay before the other reacts. (this is good / normal)
I tried removing power / batteries from my modem / router. (same problem)
I tried removing power / batteries from the Smartthings hub. (same problem)
I tried removing power from the Amazon Echo. (same problem)
I have looked at the AUTOMATIONS in the Smartthings app, they look fine.
I shut AUTOMATIONS off and the switches work as expected, (physical, voice, and app, all turn on / off the respected light in 0.5 seconds).
I turn AUTOMATIONS on and the the same six second delays happens with physical control only.
Random facts:
LIVING ROOM
Hub sits on top of a six feet tall shelf next to a TV.
KITCHEN
South switch is four feet from hub separated by one wall (sheetrock / wood studs).
North switch is twelve feet from hub separated by one wall (sheetrock / wood studs).
North switch is eleven feet from South switch with zero interference.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
