Help please, urgent - my system is functioning normally. What should I do!?

I’m not sure where to start. I realized this morning that my SmartThings system has been working flawlessly for the past couple weeks. Symptoms:

  • Automations and Routines run on time and correctly
  • Buttons, minimotes, switches all just work
  • Lights and fans respond without delay to on/off/dim commands via buttons or voice
  • Contact sensors, leak sensors, temp sensors all report accurately and promptly

I know, right?! I’m at a loss to understand what’s going on here, and could use some help from experienced members of the the community to figure out how this happened, and what my next steps should be.

Unplug it and remove the batteries.

Don’t turn it back on!

That will definitely get you back to the non working state you are looking for. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh, normalcy.

and here i woke up the whole house leaving this morning when the siren went off even though SHM alarm was “disarmed”, as scheduled, 30 minutes earlier… yeah, enjoy that “normalcy”

I think you just need patience…

Don’t worry, it will all go wrong soon…

That’s what you get for relying on a v2 hub for security and hooking up a siren to it

The siren wasn’t a false alarm. It was just screaming at you to remove the siren and replace security with an actual security system

Like doing a mic check. Is this thing on…

Hey, I’ve got a jingle for you :joy:

Seriously, here is a new one that you won’t be able to get out of your head again.

Now if ST had this same stability, it would be a perfect world:

@Danabw - SmartThings engineering is here for you and is working on bugs as we speak that will return your smart home system to a sometimes-working state. We apologize for any (in)convenience this has caused you. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

If nothing ever broke then nothing would ever have to be improved and we’d still all be living in huts sucking milk directly from the cow.
