Hi. I’m trying to connect an Aqara fp2 sensor to smartthings and having no luck.
I’ve factory rest the fp2 and set it up in the aqara home app ensuring firmware is up to date and it is working.
I installed the smartthings aqara presence sensor driver.
Heres what I’ve tried without success:
In ST: add device > partner device > aqara > fp2 = no luck
In aqara home app: Reset network and factory reset fp2. Removed fp2, readded and re-set up
In ST: scan for nearby device = no luck
I’ve repeated these steps in various order 4 times without luck.
Read in the community that the v3 hub and the fp2 need to be on the same network so tried changing the v3 hub wifi but cannot get the light to blink yellow.
If someone can tell me what I’m doing wrong I’d really appreciate it.
Have you already reported this to Customer Support? Just checking to avoid duplicate efforts, in case they’ve already assisted or opened a case for you.
A similar issue was reported to us in the past, and at that time the team shared some important checks to ensure the problem wasn’t caused by certain conditions.
Please make sure the following conditions are being met, just to rule these out before we move forward:
In the current implementation, fp2 has the following features.
When the user starts onboarding in the SmartThings app, theSmartThings Hub finds the device FP2 if it’s connected to the same network using mDNS.
In the SmartThings onboarding process, the FP2 creates a token.
If the FP2, already created a token, it won’t connect to other hubs.
If it is explicitly erased from the ST app or the Aqara app or if the user press the button for more than 5 seconds, the token generation history is deleted and becomes reconnectable.
Also, if the device registration is cancelled after the token is issued in step 2 above, the FP2 won’t reconnect until it’s reset again.
Yes. I have done all that. After every failed attempt I have removed the fp2 from the aqara app, factory rest and readded and set up in the aquarium app.
The only thing I’ve noticed is that the fp2 is on the 2.4GHz wifi and the v3 is on the 5GHz wifi. Does this make a difference?
