Aqara Presence Sensor FP2 - I need help

For almost a year my 2 Aqara Presence Sensors FP2 was working fine until a few days ago when one of them went offline.
I tried everything to reconnect it to Smartthings but with no success.
Tried resetting and reconnecting the one that was working. Unfortunately this too does not reconnect now.
I’ve tried so many things and read through so many topics and I’ve run out of ideas what to try.
They are both available in the Aqara Home app and works just fine. Several times I tried resetting and reinstalling them in the Aqara app but Smartthings wont detect them. Seaching for them eventually times out. Remind you they were both working just fine a few days ago.
Anyone with an idea. Much appreciated.

If I remember rightly you have to factory reset them, add to aqara home app then SmartThings.

Hi Andrew. Thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately I’ve tried that as well, and unfortunately no cigar

After deleting the device in the Aqara Home app, press and hold the button for 15 seconds, then press the button 15 times.

Hi Andreas, thank you for your support. Unfortunately Smartthings is still unable to connect to the devices.
Deleted from Aqara app - Reset device (hold button 15 seconds) - Factory reset device (press button 10 times).
Complete reinstallation afterwards in the Aqara home app.Still Smartthings finds nothing. It ends after searching for 3-4 minutes with an error code: 34-302

15 - 25 times… for reasons…

Make sure that your WiFi network is stable. Power cycle the FP2. Try adding it by choosing the device in the list:

Sometimes it helps to power cycle the device while on-boarding.

Thank you Andreas. Unfortunately still no luck. Tried power cycle during search Worth a try. No result though. Also adding the devices by specifying it in the Aqara section eventually only leads to Error code: 34-302.

The thing is that nothing has changed on the SmartThings side in that time. The latest changes to the driver happened about six weeks ago.

Edit: power cycle your SmartThings hub.

Install this on your computer:

And execute it:

smartthings edge:drivers:logcat

Select the Aqara FP2 driver, then try to add the device again through the SmartThings app.

Copy & paste the output here.

Have there been any changes to your Wi-Fi network?

Reboot (power cycle) your Wi-Fi router and the SmartThings hub. Unplug one of the two FP2 units and try again using only a single device.

Also, although the manual states to hold the button for 10 seconds, it actually requires closer to 20 seconds. You should perform a full reset by pressing the button 15 times. After the factory reset, the device must be added to the Aqara Home app first.

There are certainly errors being reported that seem to be caused by the driver being unable pick out the mac from the discovery responses to use as the device network identifier.

I’ll have to leave it to those who use the devices to know if that is something that can in anyway be caused by the user doing or not doing something, or if other users are about to hit the issue.

That’s why I suggested to reboot the router. The so-called ARP table that matches IP addresses to MAC addresses might be out of date.

OP should make sure to bind the MACs to the IPs in the router settings.

Hmm… this is not changing anything. I came home from work and one of them were blinking blue. Factory resetting it, brings me to step 4 in the binding process in the Aqara app and fails to connect and the device now has a solid white LED. This is new, but does not make things any better ha ha!. I’ve tried several times, but it wont join in the app anylonger.
Well, I also tried what you suggested with the other device and my router. No changes. Still the same result.

Edit: Managed to get it running again.
Nothing has changed in my WiFi settings. Listen they were both running fine only a few days ago. So whats changed? Also Alexa and Google home are connecting just fine to the Aqara Home devices, both presence sensors included and any zones created in the Aqara app. I dont get why its not working in ST any longer.

Hi @Joakim_Redanz
A similar issue was reported to us in the past, and at that time the team shared some important checks to ensure the problem wasn’t caused by certain conditions.

Please make sure the following conditions are being met, just to rule these out before we move forward:

In the current implementation, fp2 has the following features.

  1. When the user starts onboarding in the SmartThings app, theSmartThings Hub finds the device FP2 if it’s connected to the same network using mDNS.
  2. In the SmartThings onboarding process, the FP2 creates a token.
  3. If the FP2, already created a token, it won’t connect to other hubs.
  4. If it is explicitly erased from the ST app or the Aqara app or if the user press the button for more than 5 seconds, the token generation history is deleted and becomes reconnectable.
  5. Also, if the device registration is cancelled after the token is issued in step 2 above, the FP2 won’t reconnect until it’s reset again.
