Harmony Home Hub

@wackware the problem with the lights appears to be TCP related. These lights are part of a fixture and it looks like the levels for the individual bulbs are getting added together.

ST thinks the bulb level is 112 but TCP says the level is 44

Same here. Not seeing any activity.

Part of my problems were TCP bulbs. Apparently, the harmony has issues with the current TCP device handler. I traded out my TCP bulbs for some GE Links and got that part working. The other problems remain. Still nothing showing in the activities. I did have activities very briefly on Friday, but it stopped reporting after an hour.

@thegibertchan

It looks as if the harmony hub device is not being properly created during the smart app install process. If you start fresh and go through the auth process in the harmony app, it will install the harmony connect smart app but it will leave the harmony device discovered and unselected. After selecting the hub and clicking through the screens, I can see the hub but it does not respond to refreshes or show activities.

Just a head’s up, looks like Amazon has the remotes on sale today:

It’s so annoying that the home control (budget version) has assignable buttons for automation activities, and the ultimate home does not…
Just a heads up folks, the ultimate home is not worth the extra bucks IMHO unless you need more than the stock activity set. Scrolling through a long list of activities, inevitably results in an unintended activation of one of them.
Currently you can’t assign home control functions to any of the hard buttons, would be a great use for those nutty colored buttons on the bottom.

@thegibertchan Gilbert, the harmony hub is again showing the same exceptions. in the log again at line 38. And basically there are no activities or anything. You mentioned something a port change or something. I guess nearly everybody is facing the same issue.

Support just fixed mine again. If you remove or modify your hub after they fix it, it will break again. I was told they are aware of it and a fix is coming @smart

I agree about the Home Control being better, plus it doesn’t require charging. 6 activities is a bit limiting, but great remote!

Are you able to see any activity after it was fixed?

@smart, yes I can see my activities. After the fix I was able to switch activities and see the change in the ST App.

I disconnected and reconnected my Harmony Home Ultimate hub from my ST system (on both ends [removing the ST from the Harmony app and vice versa]). But nothing seems to work. I still have no access to any of my Harmony activities in the ST app. So I can’t program my tv to automatically turn on when I get home for example. I do have access in the Harmony app to devices controlled by ST (a few plugs and lights).

I added a s second Harmony Hub today and it appears the install is still broken. Something about a port being mis-configured. I don’t like that multiple hubs share the same smart app with no way to split control of devices among them. For example, in the harmony app my living room hub can control my bedroom devices because they were approved in the same smart app. The bug with TCP lights is still present as well. @Ben is there an update on when the new TCP light code is going live?

any update on why I cant connect my harmony home hub to the ST? I can install it on the harmony side but not the smartthings

You can message support and they will fix it for you. It likely won’t be resolved permanently until mid January.

Port, my friend! Till then we can drink port. It’s not that bad!

And once they fix it on an individual basis, don’t mess with the harmony connect app. No kidding!

I spoke with support from Logitech. There was a new release (Version 4.2.48) on Dec 22nd that I think broke all Smartthings and IFTTT support said they cant roll back so I think we are stuck for awhile…

I wouldn’t upgrade

Bought this over Holidays and experiencing same issues as everyone else. Looking forward to a fix soon!

got a ticket opened with ST and Logitech will update if I hear anything

Is there really no update on this from SmartThings? I know a few of us have reported our log information, which seems to indicate a port conflict when setting up the connections. SmartThings knows I have the Harmony, but I can’t finish the connect configuration because it always errors out on the same exact error message. It never varies, and it happens no matter what platform I try to use to set the Logitech harmony connect up with (iphone, ipad, android). It’s been a couple of weeks. I did initially get a response from an email I sent that said they would open a ticket, but the only communication that came from that was along the lines of “we’re looking into it because a few people have reported it”, along with a suggestion to be sure I had actually launched each configured activity from the Harmony side before trying to configure in SmartThings. I was sure I’d done that, but I did it again anyway, and retried the setup. Still no luck. Very disappointing. We get better response out of the end user community.
