not sure if its because of the latest firmware, but im now at a hardlimit again on my memory and i didnt add any more drivers or anything and now i cant add any devices either. I experienced an issue with my sinope zigbee plug and couldnt get it to reconnect, so i removed it and tried adding it and was unsuccessful, so i decided to hard reboot my hub and now i cant add any devices at all because it says im at a hard limit.
we really need a newer hub. the v3 is so dated and low spec. I’ve invested so much time and money on smartthings, i was planning on a washer dryer aswell but i dont see any motivation from samsung to release a new hub anytime soon.
ps…
I dumped my hub logs aswell. just incase.
Hi, @Jason_Silva
Can you open support access to your account, please?
- Confirm the email account registered in the forum is the same one you use for SmartThings. If not, please share it with me over DM
- Enable support access to your account:
- Go to the SmartThings Web (my.smartthings.com)
- Log in to your Samsung Account
- Select Menu (⋮) and choose Settings
- Toggle on Account Data Access
- Select the time period and confirm - In this step, please select “Until turned off”, once the team finishes, we’ll let you know so you can disable it again.
Hi, @Jason_Silva.
The engineering team took a look and as a result of some changes around driver improvements the memory being used by driver on your hub slightly increased and since you were already close to the limit before, it pushed you over. Our team is working on further improvements that should reduce memory used in upcoming updates (the next major release should have some of these). In case you still see thisin the next release, please let us know.
For now, the suggestion would be to check if you can reduce the number of drivers, for example, don’t use separate drivers if two devices can be controlled by the same one.
How do I check memory consumption on my Hub and/or Station?
Hi, @danfelix
Do you mean to check the memory consumption by each element in your hub?
If so, that information isn’t available, we can only see if the memory is in status “ok”, “soft limit” or “hard limit”.
That can be seen from the Advanced Users App > Hubs
Understood. Thanks.
Hi, @nayelyz
Could use your help.
I have v3 hub with around 150 devices. I have around 45 drivers installed.
Now when I want to add another device I’m getting this message “hub memory is full”, see screenshot below.
I have removed unused drivers and still not working.
I appreciate your help
@nayelyz I gave you permission to access my account like you have asked.
please help, I’m looking forward to hear from you
Nir
I have 17 unofficial drivers on my hub out of the 33 total. 16 are samsung ones that come by default. So 17 drivers and i hit the hard limit aswell… the only solution they have is to remove large drivers that cover a bunch of devices… which really sucks. Unfortunately, thats your only move… delete drivers you dont use.
I’m sharing the finding of @nayelyz that was sent to Nir. With Nir approval. These are very interesting findings that an ordinary user can’t find:
The engineering team checked the drivers you have installed, and this is the feedback:
- We can see there’s a driver called “SonyBraviaTV” which reached nearly 10mb with just the 1 device
- We also see you have two different drivers for virtual devices, you should check if you can keep only one
- Also, the custom drivers from Mariano Colmenarejo (those that end with “MC” consume a little above 8mb)
- There are several drivers that are controling only one device, like:
- ZWaveSirenMc
- ZigbeeMultiGangSwitchYGv216
- VirtualCalendarMc
- SmartThingsMultipurposeSensorMc
- ZigbeeMotionSensor
- ZigbeeSwitchPowerMc
- ZigbeeAqaraWaterLeakSensorMc
- AqaraXiaomiTemperature15
- AplicacionesVirtualesMc — I remember Mariano mentioned he put the “virtual calendar” in this same driver. See here: (EDGE Driver-Mc): Aplicaciones Virtuales Mc (virtual Switch Mirror, Virtual Calendar and virtual Switch Board…) - #55 by Mariano_Colmenarejo
- ZigbeeMoistureSensorMc
- AplicacionesVirtualesMcSOS
I’m also adding that ZigbeeMoistureSensorMc include all devices of ZigbeeAqaraWaterLeakSensorMc. Therefore ZigbeeAqaraWaterLeakSensorMc can be unistall.
Also updating that Nir remove two unused Zigbee bulbs , this bring him back to driverMemoryLimitStatus OK (was Hard Limit). Problem solved for him…

Does Mariano Colmenarejo still support all his drivers? I was under the impression that he no longer supported the MC drivers. Thanks.
@danfelix No, but people still use them, some devices only work in SmartThings with his drivers.
Understood. Thanks.
i find it hilarious that its 2025 and we are having issues with drivers using too many MEGABYTES of space lmao… embarrassing. This hub is 8 years old with no new version in sight… smartthings is a dieing platform and everyone is leaving for home assistant and samsung doesnt even care.
As @JDRoberts has posted on many occasions, the majority of ST users don’t have a hub and of those that do, most have 10-15 devices at most. Hard-core, large scale home automation enthusiasts are not the target market.
