Hi,
What material do you recommend to print it ABS or PLA?
i really donāt have a recommendation as my printer can only print pla
I know pla is not a good if it will be in a lot of uv lighting , I never tryied it , but if you light switch is in an area of a lot of direct sunlight abs might be better
can you explain this in more detail? iād like to use the dimmer function on this.
the RF remote has a switch to select Dim / ON-OFF function. there is no other way to switch between the 2 options. You would need a RF remote to flip the function, then the fan module will remember the setting till the next time its factory reset.
Wow it really is that simple. I feel like a dummy
Thanks
Have 6 Hampton bay wink remote install
I lost connection control all of them.
Go check on IDE and is active and working
But lights never turn On neither the fan.
Any suggestions
They were working great until Monday that we have a power outage.
Thanks in advance
have you tried turning the hub off / wait 15 min / turn hub back on to rebuild the zigbee mesh ?
This happens to my bedroom fan from time to time.
I can sometimes get it reconnected by turning the breaker off, wait a few seconds, then turn it back on. Other times I have to have go into āThingsā in the classic app and do a " + Add a Thing" to rediscover the fan controller.
When I try to add a thing doesnāt show up because is said ACTIVE on ide
When I press turn on on ST IDE change the status but nothing happens on the fan

Sometimes I have to do it a few times. One of the 2 methods I mentioned above has always worked for me eventually. Maybe someone else will have something better for you to try.
Iām having an issue with both of my fans. they used to work fine but they have been very hit or miss for a while now, and do not turn on low, med or high when asked to through Alexa. I can ask āalexa turn on bedroom fan highā and it will just turn on the speed last selected in my smartthings mobile app, like ālowā I have read through this thread again and modified lines 363 and 370 with the // and republished but this didnt help either. I also looked in my hub and the device handlers and they appear up to date. my versions are celing fan parent 0.2.170515 fan child 0.2.175015 light child 0.2.175015a. Do i have the latest versions? why wont the speed change commands work? can someone post up either here at the end or in the frst page of this thread all in the updated info and installation instructions? It has been more than a year since i installed all of this and i dont remember all the instructions. thanks or can someone point me to the page or link to what im asking for?
So I got 4 of these in today and they have been driving me crazy. I set the first one up and it refuses to pair. Iāve been trying for about 4 hours now.
Things Iāve tried:
Resetting the fan by connecting power several times. The lights will block thrice and then two to 4 times more.
Iāve tried 3 seconds between flicks, 1 second, and imediately on/off/on all produce the same result.
I have moved the hub into the room and even had it right next to the fan.
I start smart things search on the 4th off flick and it never seems to find txhe controller. I left the controller and hub unplugged for 45 min and then tried a reset. Still did not work.
These are my first zigbee devices. Even tried switching out the controller ws. Still no luck. The remote works fine though. The fan is still dissasembled.
Iāve published the device handlers and linked his GitHub. Any ideas?
Thatās probably your problem. These have terrible signal strength. Youāll need at least some other Zigbee repeating device for these to work properly. You might get them to pair without, but youāll have constant issues with them dropping off until you add something else. The Peanut plug is a inexpensive Zigbee repeater. Less than $20.
That sounds like a successful reset and then a pairing (reset is 5 blinks, and then pairing is 3). Note that if you reset the controller, and it does not subsequently pair to the hub, no combination of power cycling will get it to flash to indicate a reset, because it doesnāt have a pairing to reset. My observation is that after some amount of time it will stop searching and go to āsleepā and you have to cycle power to get it into pairing mode again, but you wonāt be able to reset it.
Is it possible the controller is already paired to the hub but you couldnāt find it, or it paired as āunknown deviceā or similar if you tried at some point before the device handlers were properly installed? If you havenāt already, check the device list in the IDE to see if thereās something visible in there that you arenāt seeing in the app.
Thatās needed long term when he puts everything back in its place, for sure, but he should be able to get an initial pairing with the hub in the same room / next to the fan.
So - Interesting updateā¦
I bought at GE 45853GE via amazon and had it delivered today. It does basically the same thing. I can start the pairing process, the second I click + in the classic app the light stops blinking, but the device never shows up in IDE, SmartThings, or the Add A device window,
Iāve sent in a ticket to support, but there probably going to say my V1 hub is dead and to get a v2.
Iām still having the issue I asked about over the weekend and I donāt think Iāve seen a response to my question if anyone can help me out on the fix to have voice control through alexa for fan speeds low med and high. It used to work fine for me, here is my original question. Thanks in advance

Final update:
Support āflashed an updated zigbee firmwareā to my hub and the fan controller imediately showed up. I still had to manually add the GE outlet, but other then that, everything is working great.
Thanks for all your help and thanks again to Jake K the support lead.
Glad itās working now.
Did ST flash an update to the hub or to the fan controller?
