After the the new Alexa skill came out recently, I decided to see if updates were made to to the Google Assistant Link as well. I was surprised to find this morning my Google Home can tell me the temperature of my SmartThings Button. So that is new.
Has anyone else noticed any new behavior?
Edit: Open/Close sensors work now, too!
It has been been possible to query temperature and open/close status using the Assistant for a very long time. Unfortunately the Google Home app still has no idea about either, just showing generic sensors, which is unhelpful. It seems odd that they are so out of step.
I decided to try my Google Home Hub and they are working there now, not to display, but will be spoken.
You’re right, the actual Home app still is worthless with this. Strange
