Is there an advantage to paying $10 more for a z-wave plus model?[/details] I probably mostly have older z-wave devices as I usually buy discounted models. If I read this correctly, I wouldn’t get any improved range from the one or two zwave plus devices unless all the hops were with zwave+ devices.
I just put a older gocontrol contact sensor on my fence gate and it is having range difficulty. So I was wondering… if I replaced an older ecolink switch about 20ft away from gate with a new zwave+ device would help??? Probably too many variables to say for sure 
This is the add-on version for three-way applications which works in conjunction with the main switch z-wave. Not sure if it works independently.

Minimotes are Awesome! Have 3 of these and they are used daily. I have 1 that I went over board on based on the time of the day, who is home, long vs short press and home mode! It does ALOT!!! Sad thing, I can’t remember a fraction of the functions that I built within the Piston…
