I just switched from a Windows phone with physical buttons to a Windows 10 Mobile device that displays the navigation at the bottom of the screen. It often covers up vital Information and controls. I found a simple swipe up 
from the bottom of the screen will hide or reveal the buttons.
Should have been intuitive, but I found this by accident.
