This sounds great. Can you imagine a way to wire this a little differently such as to place a stand-alone z-wave or zigbee of some kind within the unit, between the 12v- and switched negative for the strobe? That way a) the unit will always have power so the battery backup will work and b) we can use a regular plug. Also, it means the siren could still sound on power cut provided the internet router and Smartthings hub are on UPS…
In short, could we use a Fibaro RGBW controller and would you know how to wire it and would it work? 12v dc switch.
