The channel has not changed, just a new person doing updates to the existing channel.
Since I am now updating these drivers for Zooz and I cannot edit the original post, I am starting a new post for the channel. Mark this thread as Watching to be notified of updates.
Goal was to get all the ZEN7x switches and dimmers current on features and settings, along with standardizing all the settings names and descriptions per Zooz specs. You will see more detailed info for each of the settings than prior versions.
The toggle switches will show LED commands now. The LED is mostly hidden but they are visible in a dark room depending on your wall plate.
This is an exciting update for you all, bringing this driver up to speed with all the devices features. This unlocks some new potential with this driver when you have the battery backup added to the device. Not only can you see the battery status but you could also use the power status as a power outage indication!
Changed Wake Interval to be set at 6 hrs for quicker recovery from offline
More robust process to set and confirm wake interval
UPDATE: Zooz ZEN32 Scene Controller v2025-04-02
Full Details
This update fixes the issue where firmware 2.0 would get the default profile, missing newer settings. All applicable settings should now be available for all firmware.
I have actually not touched or used the Multichannel Switch driver yet, so I am not really sure what the issue would be. You might have better luck reaching out to Zooz, unless someone else in this community has more knowledge on it than me.
I just wanted to report that it seems none of my ZEN04 or ZEN15s are working today to turn on or off while using the ZOOZ driver for them. They still report statistics fine but they won’t turn on or off by any means through SmartThings/alexa connection. If I change them to the original SmartThings Z-wave driver it turns on and off fine but then don’t have most of the statistics.
I can’t say for sure how long this has been the case because my Zen04 and Zen15s are all just used for power monitoring mostly so they rarely ever get turned on/off. I only have one that is used primarily for on/off but it doesn’t get frequent use.
Not sure if it might be related to a driver update or if it’s some kind of SmartThings fubar with 3rd party drivers.
Edit: seems none of my devices that use the official Zooz drivers work for on/off. Had to hunt down which of my in wall switches were Zooz to test them too and they work with the regular SmartThings driver but not the Zooz one. Haven’t noticed any problem with any of my Zooz sensors. Just on/off for switches and plugs so far.
I have an OG v2 hub and have been using the official Zooz drivers since SmartThings swapped over to edge drivers, pretty much.
Just tested it with a ZEN05 fw 2.10 and it works fine for me. The entire switch driver uses the built in ST capabilities for on/off as well, so it should send the same commands as the built in driver.
My ZEN15(all the older original ones if their hardware has been updated since then) are all FW 1.02(edit: one shows as 1.03)and my Zen04(the 800LR version since I think they had other hardware versions of the model at one point) are 2.2 according to what shows in the SmartThings app with the Zooz driver enabled to show the extra stats. The in wall switch shows as 20.15.
It’s weird that none of them work with the Zooz driver but work fine with the default ST Z-wave switch driver for on/off. But at least it rules out any sort of network issue on my end, I’d think.
I’ve got the newest iOS app update and with the Zooz driver from April for the respective devices, when I click on/off it does the little spinning then eventually pops up with the standard little, a network or server error occurred, error. Only showing up for my Z-wave stuff using a Zooz official driver. I do have some other 3rd party Z-Wave drivers for things like fan switches and they work fine too to make sure it isn’t just a 3rd party driver type of thing on my hub.
Reinstalling the driver worked. I thought about doing that originally but since the driver was dated from April, I knew some had worked since then so didn’t think it would be the cause but I guess maybe it pushes the driver updates to the hub slowly and only updated in the last month or two to probably corrupt the driver on my hub.
Just had to play whackamole to find my Zooz devices to change their drivers so I could do the uninstall.
I was thinking I remembered being able to see all of the devices that used a specific driver but couldn’t find it, if I was remembering correctly or if maybe that was from the old IDE days.
NOTE: Input type 0 (automatic) does not work well with SmartThings so the default is being set to option 3 and 0 is not available. Supporting Water, Motion, and Contact for the extra sensor inputs only at this time.
I have had a heck of a time trying to integrate a ZEN17 into Smartthings. Over the last year I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled it several times, each time with an odd result. Currently I have separated the relays into separate devices to control and monitor a garage door. The device to control the door works but the contact sensor device does not. In fact, when that sensor is shorted manually, the device for the door control will show its relay as becoming closed. Now, the relay really isn’t closing because the garage door does not move.
Any help at fixing this would be greatly appreciated. I have the exact same setup on a Hubitat elsewhere and have had 0 issues with it.
After you change the settings for the input type, did you then exclude and include the device again? Do not factory reset. After including it again select your input type again. I would suggest the contact sensor input type (not dry contact). You can change the setting to separate the input from the relay before or after you exclude it.
NOTE: Routines cannot be made to select a specific tone yet, still working on that feature.
Since this is a new driver package, follow the install instructions in the top post to get to the Available Drivers list, and then install this new driver to your hub.
