I just wanted to follow-up to report that I am no longer having this issue. Though the hub wasn’t very far from the door sensor, it was located near a lot of other wireless devices and electronic equipment. I essentially moved it to the other side of my desk and pointed the ZWave focused power more in that direction and haven’t had a single hiccup since. It would appear it was a simple hub location/positioning issue in my case.
So I just installed 3 of these devices this week. The final one went in today on my Garage Door. With the android app I don’t have a way to change the icon.
I took the code for the device type from above thank you @johnconstantelo for the code. So after putting that in the icons changed to a window but still in preferences I don’t have a way to change the icon. Is there something that can be added to the code to allow the user to change the icon? Thanks.
Hey @johnconstantelo put your fix in place and it lets me change the icon but it won’t save it. Got any thoughts on that part? Thank you very much for your help with this.
Hi @TheFuzz4, I’m not sure what could be happening. Once you go through Preferences and then set device image, did you eventually see Done in the upper right? I know on occasion I’ve had to do this a time or two for the app to save it, and/or force stop/restart the app.
Yeah I’ve clicked done several times and it just won’t save it I’ll see if I can watch the logs today when I attempt it to see if they spit out anything. Thank you for the wonderful code and the help.
Have you heard of the sensors reporting only 1% battery life? I purchased three and one of them continues to only show 1% battery. I’ve swapped the battery with one of the other sensors and it reports 100% on those sensors. This same sensor also seems to be having trouble reporting to my smartthings hub (continually shows the door open even wine it is closed). Thanks in advance for any help!
I have 3 of these sensors. Two work great, but my patio door one always just has a solid led… It ends up “fixing” itself after some time. This is the 3rd sensor for this door – any clues?
Ugh! I just tried getting the code for that custom device handler and the link is broken. Does anyone know of another customer device handler for this Ecolink contact sensor?
I have two small homes. One uses Nexia (Schlage) and the other Smartthings. I use Schlage sensors in the Nexia house. I have two Schlage sensors located next to each other and one refuses to send in the Battery status, but does send open/close/tamper just fine. I have replaced the battery, but I think a new unit is my next try. After a year, all sensors show 99% in the Nexia App. To answer another question about the data being sent - I believe that Nexia wants to know if the sensor was purchased from Schlage so they can make a unique display so customers think there is something unique about the sensor when it is plugged into the Nexia system.
