Ecolink door sensor 4655BC0-R, has anybody used it?

I wanna buy these door sensors, but I can’t find any review anywhere.

It’s on ST’s site:

It’s Zigbee HA, so it should work. For that price, I might get one just to try it out.

They also have a new model, but I have yet to find out where to get it:

I use the zWave Ecolink door sensors and they are rock solid.

Hard to beat cheap and reliable.

Can get 3 for 25 bucks on eBay. I might grab them and give them a shot.

Wow, several bundle options available. I picked up a 3 pack as well. Not sure what I’ll do with them, but I usually find somewhere to put these.

I got the green light to get the 10 pack… 6 bucks each, why not.

Yeah, I’ll have to explain my impulse purchase a bit later…

HI @Jesus_Jose_Mendez and @saosinx88,

My sensors came in today, and they joined up perfectly to the hub. I used the new app, and joined them by just selecting “Scan Nearby”.

These are tiny devices, which I like a lot. They’re about 2/3 as “thick” as the Iris open/close sensor, not as tall, and about 1/3 wider. They use a coin battery, which I can live with. Now it’s time to place one in service to see how good battery life is and performance.

So far so good. Nice find @Jesus_Jose_Mendez!

I’m in the process of pairing mine. I’ve done 6 of 10 so far with no issues. I used the new app, did by brand Ecolink, contact sensor, then zigbee sensor. All joined right up, even the one I just put in the mailbox. I like how they came with spacers… Really handy.

I may try one in the mailbox too. I currently have an original ST multipurpose sensor going strong in there. It was the very first sensor I ever bought, and it uses AAAA batteries that last forever.

Now I may try their motion sensor:

Amazon has them, but they are pricey ($39.99)

Wow that’s great, I ordered a package with 10, now I feel really happy a bought them. I see that in one of the pictures the sensor can measure temperature, that’s right?

Yep they’re all reporting temperature.

Yup, they report temp.

@saosinx88 and @Jesus_Jose_Mendez, I took one of those sensors and used a little silicone to seal the joint between the cover and sensor body (I just smeared it around where the two parts meet ) and stuck it on an exterior electrical panel door. We’ve been getting a ton of rain the last two days, and so far it’s still working!

I bought several of these and the batteries seem to go dead in a matter of weeks. Is anybody having the same issues?

I did have one that initially ate batteries, but I removed it from ST and added back closer to the hub and then moved it to it’s final location. It’s been ok since, but I can’t say that actually did anything to help. I have one added back in February and it’s still at 78%, and another one added back on 7-5-2020 and it’s at 67%.
