Can't change device icon

Having added a couple of devices today it would seem that, although the edit appears successful, icon changes to devices (new or not) are failing to be saved.

Anyone else seeing this happen?

(Android, v2 hub)

Yes.

I haven’t tried changing the icon in the Add device flow, but if I use the Edit device option on the device details page I can select a new icon and have it displayed on the Edit device page and the Save button is activated. However pressing Save does NOT save the new icon.

Saving new device labels still works so it is specifically changes to the icon that aren’t respected. The new icon only appears until Save is pressed and then it is lost.

This is also the Android app.

Aside: Wasn’t there a time when the device icon appeared on the details page and not just the dashboard?

Working in the iOS app

Hi, everyone.
I got the same result. I suggest you send it to Customer Support to provide awareness and I’ll also share it with my team to see how we can share this with the corresponding team.

I’m experiencing the same thing!

First noticed today when adding a Virtual Switch via Labs.

Running SmartThings v1.8.41.23, Android v12

I changed the Icon, saved, but icon reverted to default switch.

Things I tried:

  1. Tried multiple times
  2. Power-Cycled phone
  3. Tried Different Android Phone
  4. Tried to change a standard device {plug}

Nothing worked.

Thankypu @nayelyz , ICON editing seems to be back now… :+1:

Thank you for letting me know, @TheHundredthIdiot!
I also see the difference now.

@nayelyz ermmmm I seem to have lost the local execution icon against newly created routines now though :face_with_peeking_eye:

Restarted app but no time to fiddle any further at the moment…

I just created a routine to test this and I see it:

@nayelyz From what I can tell it seems to be linked to notifications on Sonos (so maybe the new driver?). For example:

Where …2:

was a direct clone from:

but edited to have only the notification

This is consistent across app (Android) & hub (v2) reboots as well as devices. I can also confirm that …2 does not execute locally so it does not seem to be just a missing icon for a local routine but genuinely not a local execution.

just curious… does the Sonos speaker show as LOCAL in the AWA?
