Can I have a smart home monitor automation turn off a smart plug?

I have smartthings home monitor set up to work with leak detection. It works fine but I would like it to turn off the tp-link plug that my water heater is connected to if a leak is found. However under the devices to turn off, only a stupid light bulb shows up as a device that can be turned off. Why don’t any of my other devices show?

Probably the same issue as this one:

The tech had me set up a separate custom automation to handle this. In my case when a water sensor turns off my leak gopher valve, (home monitor water) this custom automation turns off my smart plug that my water heater is plugged in to any time my valve is closed.
