Updated the DTH and smartapp with some fixes for multiple devices. Tested with someone with multiple devices and so far it is working great.
Does it still show the same version in github?
It might… did it quickly
It does, added the DTH and smartapp to pull from github to keep up! Thanks
Is it possible to have the rain sensor act as a water sensor? So it can be used in apps as a trigger? I tried to add it to smart tiles but it does’t show same with notify me when and IFTTT. Thanks.
Good idea. Yeah this is possible.

Good idea.
[/quote] It happens once in a while.
Thanks again that would be great. I already have idea’s on using it for announcements for the family.
OK, now I’m confused…
I finally see mine on the network now (i.e. I configured a DDNS IP for it in my router, and I can see that it did indeed get an IP from the DHCP server, and it is indeed the IP that I configured that MAC address to have), but that’s it.
It won’t connect to my account.
It’s just sitting there with the green power light on (constant) and the WiFi light blinking green.
I know they will probably eventually respond and get me all set up, but it’s just frustrating sitting here, waiting, and not knowing whether or not they’ve even received my request for support.
I wish they would at least have some kind of auto-reply mechanism to let me know my case has been created.
Even if it said somebody would get back to me in a week, I could just relax lol
Was going to order the inside display but now you can’t add it to the cart. Says OOS @Yongfeng_Zhang can you confirm your guys are sold out now. I know you said you had a few floating around.
Wait. Where did it say that a ddns forwarder is needed?
I didn’t say anything about a forwarder.
DDNS is Dynamic DNS.
Simply put, you can set it up so that a certain MAC address gets a specific IP address from the DHCP server.
So, the IP address is ‘static’ in a sense, but it’s tied to a MAC address. So, when device with that MAC address connects and asks the DHCP server for an IP, it gets the one specified by the user.
You may be more familiar with DDNS on the internet. However, in that type of system, it’s usually a user account that it attaches to, not a MAC address…though there are exceptions to that as well.
I can confirm the rain tile works. It changed from snow to rain here and it triggered an IFTTT recipe I did real quick and the tile changed on ST.
So, did it register that it was getting snowed on before it changed over to rain?
No but I guess it looking for moisture. It was a light dry fluffy snow so I wouldn’t expect it to trip the rain but shortly after it switched over it did and I’m surprised because its still 28f here.
Isnt that just setting a static IP address, in your DHCP Server?
I’ve never heard that called a DDNS IP.
Are you saying you needed to use a DNS hosting site like dyndns or no-ip?
It sounds like we’re in the same boat with regards to getting these online. I’ve tried seeing a static ip, removing WPS, using wire shark to see what’s traversing the network.
Tbh, the most useful kids came from my router itself, but those still don’t explain the issue.
Hopefully @Yongfeng_Zhang can shine some light and respond to our emails.
Static DHCP reservations are not DDNS, you are correlating a layer 1/2 service to a layer 2/3 service.
In other words, DDNS doesn’t care about a mac address, it simply relates an IP to a hostname, the same as DNS but used if you have a dynamic IP.
Is it possible you guys have some ports block Bloomsky needs? Or your ISP does?
In my case, no.
I already connected it once and was able to see the data from it in my account just fine.
The problem I’m dealing with is that, once I saw it online, and realized that they are using the name that I gave it as the public name (not sure why I was expecting anything any different, but that’s my mistake), I decided to rename it.
When I found out that there is no way to rename a BloomSky, I decided to just remove it from my online account, and start over again.
The problem with that is that, once I removed it, it won’t re-connect anymore to let me do anything with it.
I use Charter Spectrum as my ISP and I don’t know what ports bloomsky uses.
Hard reset if you guys hadn’t found it yet. Kinda like s ST device if it’s not reset it may not connect again.
The BloomSky station will have to be reset after any unsuccessful installation attempts. To perform a “hard reset” on the BloomSky device after an unsuccessful installation attempt, follow these directions:
Turn the power button off then on to make sure the device is powered on (green power light)
Hold down the wifi button (next to the power button on the side of the device), until the green power light goes off and comes back on
The wifi light should now be blinking red; if the wifi light is not blinking red try the reset process one more time
