Blink integration with SmartThings switch

I know I can create an IFTTT applet to turn on a smartthings controlled light switch when a blink camera senses motion, but I can’t tell it to turn off after a set amount of time unless I pay $4.99/month for pro. I’m fully switched over to Samsung acct on the new app so I can’t create virtual switches like I’ve seen on other posts. Is it possible to do this without having to spend more money?

have you tried creating a virtual switch in IDE at https://account.smartthings.com

If you’re on Android and live in the USA, Korea or UK you can use SmartThings labs to create a virtual switch

I had issues when I switched from smartthings to Samsung account and everything got blown away from my smartthings account.

interesting. can you provide more details? did you get things fixed or still blown away?

Thank you! I think I need to do more exploring in the app. Had no idea that was there.

None of my devices converted over when I switched to the new app so I had to exclude from the old app and re-add them in the new.

You can create Virtual Switches using the steps shown here (just the first part, the second half is for controlling STHM): [OBSOLETE] Lock User Management (LUM) - #1982 by maddie

Or you for Blink IFTTT see this integration, it’ll create the virtual switches for you automatically

Device definitions are not held in the app, they’re held in the cloud associated with your account.

Sounds like there was a major problem with your account migration from SmartThings to Samsung userid. By chance, I got started with SmartThings just after a Samsung userid was required. Since I started out with a Samsung id, inever had to go thru the migration. From my few years here, migrations are not something that’s been done well.
