I have one of these and it works great!
I just Purchased a sets of the Quirky/Wink Tripper. Installed yesterday and they are working great. Had to order another and they will be in tomorrow. From amazon a set which is 2 sensors and 2 magnets for $40. So $20 for each door. The price is great and they are very small so are not as noticeable, Which makes my wife happy.
And pair to SmartThings just fine?
I use ST multis on the doors and it works like a charm. Bought a Fibaro door/window, got it to work but donât know how to mount it.
Before I added the devices to my Smartthings Hub I used the GitHub code from @mitchp to create a device type. From there its working great. 2 of the Trippers I installed were not showing battery level when first paired but removing them and resetting the device worked once they were paired back to the Smartthings Hub. There is an issue with the battery level only showing in levels of 11 but for me thatâs not a big problem at the moment.
There is a discussion regarding this device here
Ben, I agree with an earlier post. The ST items I have work great, but other brands are so much cheaper. I donât need to know the temp all over my house. But I need a window/door sensor on each window and door in my house (22). So I had to go to Quirky Tripper to save hundreds of dollars. The ST items would have to be cheaper.
By the way, Quirky Trippers are a pain getting setup, but they are half the price and I needed so many.
I just took my 4 down. So many issuesâŚthe husband acceptance factor was in the negative after the trippers triggered my door alarm in the middle of the night 3x last weekâŚ
Replaced with Ecos, man these are ugly and HUGE but they are working 100%. The trippers looked so much better.
I have 4 to sell to someone!
Lol, yes I just ordered the Quirky off Amazon last week so I may send them back. I notice the Monoprice ones are backordered, but they are also pretty inexpensive compared to some others. Eco may be the way to go.
I have 28 of the Ecolink sensors on all my windows, and doors. I also took advantage of them having internal terminal contacts, and have one as a door bell indicator, and three as lock sensors - 1 for a crawlspace latch and 2 for sensing when I manually lock/unlock my deadbolts. Aside from a couple acting a little flakey, theyâve been rock solid devices.
I got the email today about the new sale price on the open/closed sensors. $35 a piece for the 5 pack. Not bad. Thanks for listening to the community! I am sure you will sell a lot more of these now.
