Aqara H2 EU 1 gang and 2 gang Matter Thread switches now on UK Aqara site

Same here. The Tapo S220 that I wanted to get rid of has a depth of 25 mm and it barely fits. All the other boxes are the same…

But since the H2 is Matter over Thread (!), I’ll make it work. I’m not the only one in our household, so I don’t think I can leave it dangling on the cable…

If you’re stuck, this spacer adds an extra 10mm, apparently.
Can’t picture how it would look in place though. The light switch I’d want to use it on you would see in side profile every time you entered the room. So if it looked bad you’d constantly be reminded of it,

Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!

Just spotted this article.

I’m pretty sure it’s wrong, especially when it says this.

Yep, it’s not a bookmarked site, it came up as a Google alert. I’d set up a Google alert for “Aqara h2 switch” so I could track articles about it.

Did you ever get the switch installed? Did you use a spacer, if so how does it look?
How about reliability and relay noise?

The spacer should arrive on Friday. In the meantime I managed to get (a working) neutral into the box. Still testing it with a stripped power cord. Relays are kinda loud but that should change when the switch is in place. Very reliable but my Thread network is rock solid anyway.

The dimensions of the spacer are perfect for the device and I had it installed for a day, but I didn’t like how it looked so fat, so I spent hours to cut down the ~20 wires in the box to make it work without the spacer.

@mocelet : can’t add the device to the Aqara Home app to control or configure it via Bluetooth like the Nanoleaf devices.

Pretty happy with it and I’ve already ordered more to replace the other switches.

Yeah, I was concerned it would look too chunky. I don’t have an option to trim wires to make it fit.
I’ve recently added 5 thread+ matter bulbs and I like the responsiveness of them, they seem to react faster to the motion sensor than the zigbee devices. Would have liked to swap my zigbee switch with this Aqara one but I just don’t think there’s any chance of it fitting without a spacer.

It’s worth it! Even with the spacer.

Forgot to mention that I use the buttons to control Nanoleaf M/T bulbs and the relays only if I ever want to power off the light fixtures to change them. A bit overkill.

So… Absolutely silent operation.

The reaction time between button press and light on/off is impressive.

I don’t suppose you happened to take a photo of the switch with the spacer in place did you?

I can take one when the next switch arrives on Thursday.

Thanks for that. Appreciated.

I’ve just installed the spacer for you so you can see what it looks like. The radius on the corners doesn’t quite fit, but if there’s no other option, it’s fine. Now I need to make enough space in the box again so that hopefully it will work without spacers.

Thanks for that. I doesn’t look great with the spacer, and we’d see the side profile view of it every time we entered the room. Need to think about that. The zigbee switch I’m currently using had been very unreliable (randomly going offline every couple of months) but seems to have been fairly solid now for about 5 months, for no particular reason
