Another Smart Hub Connection Issue - Error code 33-504

Hi @Yasin_Sisto

Here’s is the link Troubleshooting SmartThings Hub 2018 and Aeotec Hub

Hi i have a V1 hub thought it best to upgrade at last now the V3 hub gives this error when trying to add in app

Could you follow the instructions in the post below, please?

I have the same problem. I have a google wifi router system, and a tp-link TL-SG-108E. I can’t manage to disable UDP port 123 on any of them. I have one “old” Smartthings hub that has worked fine for a long time, but the new Aeotec hub get the 33-504 when I try to add it.

serial 4021286898

This appears to still be an issue. On my fourth V3 hub, firmware update stalled at 99% until application eventually timed out. Hard reset many times. No joy. I consistently get a Error Code 33-503, which says reset and try again. Out of my three current v3 hubs, one is wired and two are wireless. Had no issues with those. It’s unfortunate that being a smartthings fan from the beginning it feels like it is time to change technologies. I practice and teach advanced programming, IoT, Embedded Systems, and RTOS topics, so it’s not for lack of understanding here.

I keep getting 33-504 as well.

My router (TP-Link Deco) does not have the NTP block option. Serial # is 3021612430. Please help.

Hi @smashclash
Could you please share the Hub logs with us by following the steps below?

  1. Insert Fat32-formatted USB drive to the USB slot on the back of the hub.
  2. Press and release the reset hole on the back of the hub.
  3. Hub LED will blink magenta while copying logs.
  4. After the Hub LED returns to normal from magenta blinking, extract the USB drive and connect it to a PC.
  5. File name will be “logdump_xxxx.tgz.enc”
  6. Leave a comment in this thread and we’ll send you a direct message (DM).
  7. Then send the package via direct message (DM) to our SmartThings support team.

I have the log file ready to send you. Please send me the DM. Thanks.

Please send them to build@smartthings.com

I sent them in earlier today. How long does it take to get a reply?

I keep getting 33-504 even after resetting the hub multiple times and following the troubleshooting links.
I’m using a TP-Link Deco Mesh system and don’t see an option to create a block rule anywhere.
My Smartthings Hub S/N is 3011074738

I have tried to download the file. It does not download. I am still getting the 33-504 error code. I have a LAN plugged into the device. Please let me know what I need to do. Thanks

Hi,

I have 2 Smartthings hubs which get this same error.33-504. Many attempts at factory resets, and adding. These hubs were previously working and I moved to a place for 5 years, and they were off line. Moved back and have attempted to use them, but can’t get them added.

.Factory reset gets me to the flashing red/green, but always ends up failing with this error. I would like to use at least one of them. I expect its related to the expired cert. Is there are a way to get these upgraded ?I saw one workaround do disable UDp 123 but my provider doesn’t provide that level of control in the Gatewaay with the admin user. Any suggestions ?

One is:

IM6001 V301

SN: 3011384616

  • block port 123 udp on your Router

  • reset the hub and onboard the hub to the app

  • unblock port 123 udp

  • if you don’t have the ability to block port 123 udp than block the domain ntp.org and follow the same steps above. Many Routers have a parental control option that allows you to block domains.

Good afternoon. I am having the same issue as the above poster. Happy to supply details of my device. I have also blocked NTP, but this did not help. Any advice would be very useful. Thanks Ian
